Baltic Sea at Sopot, Poland

These pictures were taken at the Baltic Sea, Sopot, Poland. It’s one of my favourite beaches. Look at the clouds… seem to have been drawn from a painting.

There’s a small town in Bulgaria called Sopot too. What I love about that place is mountains and clear air. What i hate - there’s no sea! I can see that you have some at the Polish Sopot. Mind to send some, @KanishkNagpal ? :slight_smile:

It does look charming. Just like one of those 90’s American movies. Are there water sports at Sopot in Poland?

@FlameFox

Yes it’s in Poland. And there are some water sports too.

By the way, here is the link to my Sopot album:

I hope you like it.

Thanks for sharing, @KanishkNagpal ! It was an absolute pleasure to check all the photos you have taken. Noticed the elder artist images and his paintings, so finally made the connection you were referring in your post to as well. Sopot does look like a painting. :slight_smile:
Hearing that you have seen water sports, I am even more curious to hear if you have tried any of those experiences like parasailing or jet, why not?

@FlameFox

thank you~

Unfortunately I could not try those water sports as I was alone over there and no one was with me to record my video and click my pictures :slight_smile:

Ow, I see now, @KanishkNagpal . Hopefully this will inspire a travel gang and next time you will have the opportunity. It’s always great to have someone on hand XD

Did you get impressed by other interesting places or activities during your visit at Sopot?

@FlameFox Yes, there are many a things that made me fall in love with Sopot. The Pier, the beautiful beaches, Cruise, the resort, the church, and so much more. It’s a must visit in my opinion.

I can see that you are right, @KanishkNagpal . What’s the Cruise like? Sounds fun.

@FlameFox the Cruise is a lot of fun. There are multiple cruise destinations to nearby islands and port towns in Poland. It’s simply beautiful, to say the least.

Even sounds exotic, @KanishkNagpal !

Should I assume you had the time for a ride to a nearby island or port with that cruise?

@FlameFox I went on a cruise that sailed within the sea itself and then back. It was also a great experience. Unfortunately I could not visit any island or port due to time constraints.

It’s still a nice experience, @KanishkNagpal . Did you have a guide during that cruise and what happened when the ship sailed?

@FlameFox yes there was a guide on that ship, but unfortunately it was in Polish language. It’s totally alien to me :slight_smile:

It was a good experience anyways, with a fine musical performance by an artist and some nice food. It was pleasant to experience the sea breeze during the cruise as well.

Hahaha, ow yes, it’s a bit awkward when the universal translator does not work :smiley: I am sorry to hear of the barrier. At the same time it feels great to know that you got the bright side and enjoyed the experience your own way, @KanishkNagpal . I have never been on a normal cruise trip, so it’s interesting to hear of such. Except the discourse and orchestra, what else happened during that experience? (If you’re open to share on that, of course - on the other hand, I will be asking about the rest of you Sopot visit :wink: )

@FlameFox Other than that, it was nothing much… because it was a short trip of around 1.5 hours. But it was thoroughly enjoyable.

Coming to the rest of Sopot visit, it was a memorable visit. I really liked the church, the Pier, the beautiful surroundings, the beach, the market, and the lovely weather.

Sopot is a small town and has nothing much other than these attractions. It’s connected to major Polish cities via Train (excellent services I must say, as I visited there by train itself from Warsaw), and road. You must try and visit Sopot for sure. Infact, Poland itself is a very underrated tourist destination in my opinion. It’s nothing short of majestic.

Poland’s a great destination indeed, @KanishkNagpal . My colleagues are often joking that it’s way desirable than it initially looks considering many countries wished to own it during the wars. It’s great that it has independence today.

Back on topic - small towns sometimes mean a lot for travel and Sopot feels like one of these places. Hearing of cruises - come on, this means tourism has developed here for sure! Hope you will have the time to take another one of these (in addition, hope there will be someone speaking foreign language and do the translation :slight_smile: )

On the church matter - it is a catholic one, isn’t it? Did you find interesting facts about it and information boards around. Sometimes internet does not have their content which is why I am constantly asking about such.

@FlameFox yes it’s a Catholic Church. There were information boards around, but in Polish language.

And yes I definitely wish to visit Sopot again

Lol, no English, Russian or any other translation? Wow, that’s a surprise, @KanishkNagpal !

At least the market doesn’t need many international language clarifications. What did you see there and what was it like? Were there goods like fruits and vegetables only or did you see books and souvenirs as well?

1 Like

@FlameFox yes there are not many people in Poland who speak in English.

And in the market, there were all kinds of goods, from clothing to shoes and handbags, to books, souvenirs and gifts, groceries, essentials and many more.

Beautiful @KanishkNagpal I was in Poland not so long ago (Warsaw, Katowice, Wieliczka, Raba Wyzna, Rabka Zdroj, Zakopane, Pieniny National Park, Auschwitz and Krakow etc) and I loved it. But I didn’t make it Baltic places. I plan to return :slight_smile:
