BAKPIA

Bakpia is a special snack from my hometown, Yogyakarta. Bakpia is adopted from a type of cake originating from China named “Tou luk pia” which means cake containing meat. Furthermore, this cake is adapted to the tastes of the people of Yogyakarta, which are sweet and savory. So a new version of cake, called Bakpia, appeared. Made from a mixture of green beans and sugar wrapped in a flour mixture and then roasted. Bakpia has a distinctive texture and taste.

The process of making Bakpia certainly requires special expertise because if it is not done correctly, the shape and taste will not be perfect.

Bakpia is usually enjoyed while drinking coffee or hot tea, in the morning or evening, or can also be used as a snack when we swim, recreation, or for the gift of your friends who live in other cities. Yummiii …

Anyone want it? @To_paul @Austinelewex @Ant_Bad_Yogi @Nyainurjanah @PaDeSSo

Please comet my city ??

So this cake is not the usual cake I know right.

Because I am seeing meat as an item to make this cake.

Now I would love to ask you both @fafaguru @Ant_Bad_Yogi How is the meat added?

Is it smashed meat or grinding into smaller bits. 555

@Austinelewex What liquid? In the photo of Grilled Banana?

Yes @Ant_Bad_Yogi .

@Austinelewex That is the dipping sauce for grilled bananas. The sauce is kind of sweet and the scent is like caramel. When I eat grilled bananas, I eat the banana itself first, then I dip it. So I can enjoy the real taste and with the dipping sauce.

@Ant_Bad_Yogi I saw the video.

It looks like the basic item for the mooncake is coco yam.

Now I want to ask you @Ant_Bad_Yogi , Can you prepare this mooncake yourself?

Salam bakpia

Hello @fafaguru
sorry,
but I don’t notice the fork.

For me, Mbak @fafaguru @one thing that is so frustrating about bakpia is: they don’t have distinctive brand. They use number as the brand.

And this is not easily remembered, at least for me, which number is the delicious one.

Some friends tell me it’s, for example, 25. But what I remember is 52. Etc.

Confusing…
