Bahn Mi Bliss in Little Saigon! 🥖🍜

Okay, foodies, let’s talk about something seriously delicious: the bánh mì! All it took for me on a recent business trip to Utah to get this sandwich stuck in my head was the mere mention of it from a Vietnamese friend. I fired up Google Maps and found the closest and best rated one near my morning run.

The Bahn Mi’s Effect On Me

This Vietnamese sandwich is a flavor explosion in every bite. Imagine a crispy baguette stuffed with savory fillings like grilled pork, pâté, pickled veggies (carrots and daikon!), fresh cilantro, and spicy mayo. Seriously, the combination of textures and tastes is just chef’s kiss.

Now, if you happen to be in Salt Lake City, UT, you HAVE to check out the “Little Saigon” area. This vibrant neighborhood is a hub for amazing Vietnamese culture and, you guessed it, incredible bánh mì! You’ll find a bunch of fantastic spots serving up this iconic sandwich, each with their own delicious twist. At Little Saigon, you can find steaming bowls of flavorful pho, the iconic noodle soup, perfect for a comforting and satisfying meal. Don’t miss out on fresh and vibrant summer rolls, packed with herbs, shrimp, and vermicelli, served with a delicious peanut dipping sauce. For a heartier option, explore cơm tấm, broken rice served with grilled meats and pickled vegetables – a truly authentic Vietnamese experience. It’s a little slice of Vietnam right in Utah! Go get yourself one – you won’t regret it!

@JordanBurleson thanks for the story about banh mi. reminds me of a few years ago when I first ordered bahn mi at the Sheraton Surabaya Hotel, I thought it was noodles (“mi” in Indonesian means noodles)
