Bad reviews and reviewer writes that they have never been there.

So I am looking at hotels in the Branson area. At one smaller out of the way place, they have 98 reviews, only 3 bad and rest are very well written for the most part which I appreciate myself. Of the 3 1 star reviews, one has a comment of, saw it while driving into Branson, another has a comment of, never been there. The other was ridiculous, as complaint was that it wasn’t closer to downtown, won’t even go there with how sad that comment was. We need a choice to flag reviews with an option, person admits they know nothing about the place… . I haven’t stayed there either, but its sad that the businesses have to deal with such ridiculousness. If I knew how I would start my own reviewing place and delete or at least flag any that don’t have relevance or did not actually go there and simply fake the review for whatever reason they have. The businesses and the customers deserve better even with the rest of us trying to do a good job to help others out.

Hi @demotric-say_what ,

Welcome to Connect.

You may do so by following the steps bellow:

To report a review on mobile

  • Tap the three dots on the right of the review and select Report review
  • Add the email address associated with your Local Guides account and select the violation type
  • Tap Submit

To report a review on desktop

  • Click the three dots on the right of the review and select Flag inappropriate review
  • Add the email address associated with your Local Guides account and select the violation type
  • Click Submit

Please be informed that I am going to relabel your post to the How-tos section on Connect as this is the place to share feedback, tips and ask questions.

I will also mark my comment as a solution to your post. The purpose of this feature is to help Local Guides find answers when searching on the Connect. You can take a look at: Tip: How do I mark comments as solutions?

Hi @demotric-say_what

In addition to what @MashaPS told you I would like to also draw your attention to another new feature. Under each review a new button has been added in the Android app. Earlier we could hit “Like” but now we can also hit a button called" Not helpful". You could chose to hit “Not helpful” even though reporting a review or profile could be more effective.

Cheers

I will do that, but then the guidance is to pick? which one? Choices are only, review is not relevant to this place. Conflict of Interest, Offensive or explicit, privacy concern or legal. I believe the first one, not relevant is the best choice and will do that barring any other direction. Thank you for responding!

Not relevant will be fine, @demotric-say_what .

It would be really helpful if you would use the tagging tool when replying to someone here on Connect. Type @ followed by the username. Type slowly. Then we get an e-mail notification and you are more likely to get a prompt reply.

Cheers
