I get excited every time I go back to visit Vilnius, and ever more so nowadays because of the Covid 19 pandemic of which it has been three long years since I had last visited the city.
Typically, whenever I’m in Vilnius, I spend most of my time exploring the old town area; however this time I decided to explore another part of the city that I have yet to see. I had received a recommendation during my trip to go and see a beautiful, blossoming neighborhood called Naujamiestis. I immediately found myself heading over there and exploring the area, discovering along the way cool street art, delicious restaurants, and cafes with an incredible vibe.
While in the neighborhood, I searched Google maps for a place to eat and one cafe in particular caught my eye - Backstage Cafe. The moment I entered this place I felt an amazing atmosphere. It’s such a stunning space, beautifully decorated, in a rustic yet modern decor. And as a bonus the cafe is dog friendly!
But besides the beautiful design and the great atmosphere, the coffee is absolutely the main attraction that completes the experience as a whole. High quality coffee is provided from different places around the world. The staff is extremely professional and has mastered making delicious coffee. Alongside the different kinds of coffee served, there are also many tasty breakfast and brunch dishes, taking me back home to Israel, where our food is very similar; dishes like shakshuka, avocado, salad, eggs benedict and much more - all fresh and delicious!
In the patisserie section are tasty croissants, breads, cookies and other goodies but the highlight in my opinion is the cinnamon bun - it is simply THE BEST!
I had the chance to sit and talk with the owners of the cafe - very friendly Lithuanian guys that are true masters in the coffee world. I was really impressed; they are professional and in my eyes bring something fresh, young, and lively to the city.
So, if you find yourself in Vilnius don’t miss out on this cafe, make sure to visit and grab yourself a coffee and treat. Trust me, you’ll thank me later! Backstage Cafe is a winning combination of atmosphere, food and people.
