Back to my favorite Pakistan food after over 1 year of separation - Pak Punjab Kuala Lumpur

It must have been over 1 whole year since I had set food back at one of my favorite go to places for a heavy meaty spicy meal. Pak Punjab Restaurant (https://goo.gl/maps/J6aKThZ17sNVkAm77 ), is a one of the most popular Pakistani food places in Kuala Lumpur and is usually packed every single day before the pandemic, and I have lost touch with them over the last year due to limited movement control. After thus long, it was time to head back there to have a good meal with some friends.

[Picture below] - It was a familiar sight, and we were rather excited after not being here for so long. We were missing the delicious taste of authentic spice blends and cooking skills by native people there. When we got there, we were greeted by wharfs of smoke billowing out from the open air grill in the evenings. Many cars were still parked at the side of the road.

[Picture below] - Only in the evenings, daily, their open air grill is stared on charcoals which impart even more smokiness to the meats. Here kebabs of chicken, beef and mutton are being grilled.

[Picture below] - Just over on the other side, the large pieces of marinated spiced chicken are being grilled as well. They have a separate tandoor over for tandoori styled meats.

[Picture below] - And also flat grill plates for special keema and other dishes being made on another corner.

[Picture below] - We ordered our favorite Mutton Karahi, which is a spicy stewed made with cooking mutton with spices, tomatoes, ghee, ginger and more, until soft and succulent. The ghee adds the extra richness to the already rich mutton meat. And finally topped with more fresh ginger and coriander leaves, this makes this our favorite dish in this place, to be eaten with flat breads.

[Picture below] - We also ordered some small plates of our favorite dishes, of dhal mash, fried Karela (bitter gourd) and Keema, which is like ground meat stew.

[Picture below] - No meal would be complete with ordering some grilled kebabs. Eaten with the sourish tangy sauce.

[Picture below] - Just to make sure I got full, like I am not already stuffing myself, I had a serving of Pulao rice, which is cooked with meat sauces until the rice absorbs the delicious flavors of the meat.

Don’t ask me how 3 of us managed to finished the lot, but we did, and now I feel like retreating to my cave to hibernate for a few days, just to digest my food. Oh, how I have missed this food, and now after a super heavy revenge meal, I was finally satiated.

Lollzzz @StephenAbraham if you don’t write “Kuala Lumpur at the heading of the post” I never believe it’s not Karachi or Lahore.

Wow so you can taste all the authentic dishes from Lahore and Karachi in your city, that’s really amazing.

Seekh Kabab, Katatak, Karhai, Daal Maash, Karela Qeema, and this tempting Pulao, These all are my all time favourite dishes, and I always try these dishes at different places of Karachi.

And again after this post, I m eagerly waiting for your Karachi visit inshaAllah, so we can compare the tastes between KL and KHI

Thanks for sharing for such a great post bhai.

Oh…OMG…

though I am a vegetarian - your photos made me smell our favourite dishes…

You concluded…

“…Don’t ask me how 3 of us managed to finish the lot”…"

This was my doubt too… how could you do that???

Then you have confirmed - " but we did ".

Then surely you need a RETREAT …

Am I right dear @KashifMisidia ?

All the best for your REST.
