Authentic, Delicious Kathiyawadi Cuisine at Shree Khodiyar Dhaba in Pune

Hello LG foodies, rejoice!

Pune’s culinary scene just got a whole lot spicier (and creamier) with the arrival of Shree Khodiyar Kathiawadi Dhaba.

This brand-new restaurant promises an authentic taste of Kathiawar, Gujarat’s heart, right in your city. It is a large restaurant chain based in Bharuch, Gujarat. This is there first branch in Pune.

Photo 02: The reception area and a special daily menu placard are placed for your reference outside the main entrance.

Photo 03: The spacious seating area and simple decoration and ambience.

Imagine piping hot rotlas (rotis) paired with a variety of lip-smacking curries, each bursting with the distinct flavors of Kathiawadi food. From the tangy Sev Tameta to the rich Kadai Paneer, Shree Khodiyar Dhaba promises a delicious culinary journey.

But wait, there is more! Vegetarians will be spoiled for choice with an extensive menu that includes delectable dals, fragrant rice dishes, and a variety of seasonal vegetables cooked to perfection in traditional Kathiyawadi style. The different types of papads, particularly the Gujarati-style khicha papad, were fantastic. Do not forget to finish your meal with traditional Gujarati desserts such as Matho (shrikhand, also known as sweet yogurt), hot Gulab Jamun, and cold sweet lassi.

Photo04: Delicious, mouth-watering, tasty dishes are served here.

Above all, you will be greeted by a variety of delicious, sweet and sour, spicy pickles, as well as a bowl of jaggery and peanuts on your table. OMG! It was so delicious, we almost forgot we had ordered the main course!

Photo04: This is traditional in Gujarat; a variety of delicious, sweet and sour, spicy pickles, as well as a bowl of jaggery and peanuts, are always served on your table.

When you leave, you will notice a lot of mouthwash and “off-the-shelf” items, like the homemade pickles you tried on the table. I love their display of mouth-freshers, reminding me of our playful childhood.

So, whether you’re a Kathiyawadi food aficionado or simply looking to explore new culinary horizons, head over to Shree Khodiyar Dhaba and experience the warmth of Gujarati hospitality. Get ready for a delicious and satisfying meal that will leave you wanting more!

Here is my review of the restaurant on Google Maps.

Cheers!

:joy:

Thanks for you appreciation, @Praniketmore , good to see you back!

@TusharSuradkar , My favorite here is tomato shev bhaji. (which is on the cover banner).

The best part is that they do not serve thalis. Normally, you will find gujarati - marwadi thali restaurants, but this one specifically serves a variety of kathiyawadi dishes.

Wow, your review of Shree Khodiyar Dhaba has my mouth watering! It sounds like a fantastic addition to Pune’s culinary scene, especially for those of us who love exploring authentic regional cuisines. The way you described the piping hot rotlas paired with the rich and tangy curries makes me want to head over there right now.

I’m a huge fan of vegetarian dishes, and your mention of the extensive menu, including delectable dals, fragrant rice, and seasonal veggies, has piqued my interest. The khicha papad and traditional desserts like Matho and Gulab Jamun sound divine.

I love how they offer a variety of pickles and a bowl of jaggery and peanuts on the table—the little touches like these make a dining experience memorable. And the mouthwash and homemade pickles to take home are such thoughtful additions!

Thank you for sharing your delicious experience.
