August Journey on Google Maps

This August was another meaningful month for me as a Local Guide. Every small step I take on Google Maps feels like adding a piece to the bigger picture of how people see and discover Cambodia.

I contributed to 61 unique places — from small coffee shops in Siem Reap to local businesses hidden in the corners of our towns. Each time I upload a photo or share information, I think about the traveler or local who will find it useful.

One highlight was reaching over 460,000 new views on my photos this month. That’s not just a number — it means thousands of people looked at my photos before making decisions about where to go. Knowing that my photos helped someone choose a safe road, find a place to eat, or explore a new area gives me motivation to keep contributing.

I also got closer to the Master Director badge and even kept up a small 4-day contribution streak. These milestones remind me that consistency matters, even if it’s just a few edits or uploads each day.

Being a Local Guide is more than points and levels — it’s about impact. For me, it’s a journey of sharing Cambodia’s hidden gems with the world, making sure the map tells real and helpful stories about our country.

@SophatCHY Congratulations about the last month.

That is something beautiful of you contribute to helping others to find the locations. And improve Cambodia’s Maps of the small businesses that doesn’t know the importance of location. Your review was helpful
