Attractive Food Joints Storefronts in DotonBori Market of Osaka

Dotonbori is a shoppers and foodie paradise in Osaka, Japan.

This street is mostly lined up with food joints and a few souvenir shops.
And the largest attractions I would recommend seeing are the sculptures above the storefronts.

Almost every shop here sports an attraction on its storefront, each one unique seeking attraction of the tourists.

Here’s one food joint that serves crab dishes. So, they have put up a large crab that looks real.

This storefront shows a winking pig along with the menu and previews of the food items.

Also, the food joint is seen to be accessible for a wheelchair-bound person.

Here’s an attractive dragon that goes inside and comes outside on the storefront.

Several vending machines can also be seen.

This storefront has a fake replica of their best dish on the top and a flurry of displays and smaller food replicas in the showcase.

Several other shops show objects like strawberries, more dragons, brains and octopuses.

The Octopus balls dish called Takoyaki is especially famous here.

This storefront has a couple of spiderman manikins one of which is grabbing their food item made of seashells.

Here’s another huge dragon in the clouds with some food items in its mouth.

This is a storefront of a souvenir shop that is neatly leveled with the main street.

Also on display are showcases and money exchange machines.

This storefront shows large replicas of their crispy golden food item with a golden boy happily smiling.

This is one of the largest storefront decorations with an angry man holding a hot dog.

The person’s manikin is also seen standing at the door.

This attractive storefront shows a manikin in a traditional Japanese costume playing a drum.

The drum player is robotic in that it moves the limbs and produces some music on the drum.

Many other storefronts display automobiles and other funny-looking manikins to attract tourists.

Another storefront has a huge portion of their meat food items on display to give an idea of what they cook and sell.

This shop perhaps sells beef food items and has a golden cow along with some family enjoying their food.

This food joint probably sells beef items and shows a bull, burger, and shrimp food item replicas.

The dragon seems to be a favorite with many though they actually do not cook them nor sell them.

The food joints in the Dotonbori market of Osaka have left no stone unturned to attract customers to their shops.

They also have some of the creatures animated.

So sad that the real ones that move are eaten :disappointed_relieved:

@Annaelisa Thank You

The dragon looks happy and friendly because it does not exist, and no one is eating it

I always see something new, artists and attractive stores in Japan. Their ideas are always out of box. I have seen the 3D videos too on social media on top of shop which looks real. It is amazing. You have shared great post about it dear @TusharSuradkar thanks for sharing it.

Completely agree @Rohan10

Japanese shops are remarkably different from elsewhere.

@TusharSuradkar your post about Dotonbori Market paints such a lively picture! I can almost feel the energy of the place through your words. Those storefronts with winking pigs, dragons, and even a robotic drum player sound like they have their own personalities. It’s a bit bittersweet to think about the animated creatures when you mention the real ones being eaten. Your storytelling really brings out the heart and soul of Osaka’s food culture. Thanks for sharing this delightful journey with us!

Hello @TusharSuradkar ,

Great to go through your storefront posts. This one is another in the series.

All photos are captured with the clarity of conveying the intent behind them. The robotic drum player looks amazing here.

Great post and excellent photos.
While the main goal is indeed to attract customers into the restaurant, it is great to see the artistic ideas and great execution that is part of the process.

What an elaborative and colorful post on storefronts @TusharSuradkar Sir! I am too working and would publish post soon on Storefronts in Gurugram City! Indeed, a very unique idea to push forward! Japanese culture like dragons as symbols of strength, wealth, courage, magic, happiness. That is why they have used in their storefronts. Very attractively designed and appealing storefronts which is hard to capture in one blink of eyes. What a creative edge! Great Share Sir! Best Regards!

In fact, I started storefront photography taking inspiration from the amazing shops in Gurugram. @AnubhaBangia

The best part about storefront photography that I realized was that we don’t have to use their business to post a review.

Be careful though, I had some bitter experiences with taking photos of shops.

Many business owners do not understand this and can take offense.

And many other local guides have had this experience too

So, my suggestion would be to take photos of shops that are very large, and from a corner, not from the front.
