Although, I attended this 'Virtual MeetUp; ‘All about 360 Photography using Mobile’ on Saturday; the 23rd of May, 2020; I was so caught up preparing for co-hosting duties for my own Meetup,that I never got the chance to write an “ATTENDEE RECAP”!
I have felt very guilty since then because of three, no five reasons;
- It was a ‘Love at First Sight’ for the Street View Photography Badge
so much love that if I could pay to have one, I would have paid
- Many of the first people I talked with on Connect, I spoke and chatted with because I saw the badge on their profiles.
It’s like meeting someone who has been to a destination on your ‘bucket list’
- I have attended more meetups on 360 degrees Photos and Street View Photography, than I have attended any other one. I am passionate about Street View Photography!
What did you think? That I will tell you the other two reasons? No, they are personal. Thank you. The only person I can tell is TraciC; my one and only; WCW. Thanks for this platform ma.
MY ‘TAKEAWAY’ FROM THE GROOMING SESSION
- How to take a 360 Photo using a Mobile phone. Mahesh Salvi @Mahesh_Dilip_Salvi gave such a vivid illustration, I could not possibly forget in this lifetime. Mahesh sir, if you kindly please
share the GIF you shared with us during the Meetup in the ‘Comments’. Thank you
- How to take a 360 photo using a Mobile Phone
Now, you are wondering why “numbers one and two takeaway” are the same, I promise you, they are not! If this Virtual Meetup was a Classroom, we would have said; Mahesh sir gave the Practical while Bharath Dharanappa sir gave the theory. I think BharathD sir is such a Phenomenal teacher! Why do I say this? even though many great ‘teachers’ on Connect have talked about Street view and 360 Photos, I only ‘understood’ how I could do it, after he taught it. Bharath sir, I request you, if you may
please kindly share in the comments what you taught us about connecting the dots while taking a 360 photo with the mobile phone
That was the ‘cue’ I needed, sorry the ‘life-saving cue’. He also explained how to blur out images from the 360 Photos.
- What’s better at a Meetup than having ‘experienced professionals’ join in? I have been ‘obsessed’ with getting a 360 Camera especially the Ricoh Theta V since PaulPavlinovich first told me about it, here on Connect, even though he explained I could do 360 Photos with a Mobile Phone. I made up my mind to only begin my ‘Streetview Photography’ journey after I got my 360 camera. After I watched (dizzily) Mahesh sir turn a full 360
literally to take a Photosphere, my resolve got strenghtened! So, I wanted to know if I had to turn ‘360’ with my Ricoh Theta V and @jaisoncbe came to the rescue. Do you have to turn around while taking Photo with the 360 camera? NO! The 360 camera has a Camera lens; one on either side. So one lens takes a photo of one side (180 degrees), the other lens, takes the photo of the other side (180 degrees) complete! The purest answer ever! No other answer could do!
- Is the party complete if my Papa is not there? @TravellerG was there to support and to share his knowledge and insights! I will credit my inspiration to all the Actors I have mentioned and to him. After Jaison sir explained to me, he reacted saying; "the 360 Photos taken with a Mobile Phone have a better resolution than that taken with the 360 Camera, as that Camera only has4MP Camera
. He also advised to take all pictures in ‘landscape mode’ for Google Maps.
At the end of the Grooming session, the house was asked; “what topic do you want us to discuss next week?” The Chat room was filled with; “360 Photos”!
TravellerG agreed of course! All the Grooming session topics are selected based on what the Local Guides want to learn about. The session holds every Saturday at 2p.m. (GMT+1) which is 6:30 P.M. IST.
Please come and learn. I will become a better Local Guide because of all of these Meetups I attend. Please try to attend Meetups, even if it is held in a language you do not understand, watch, at the end of it, you can find a way to read the ‘recap’ in the language you understand.
A big thank you to the amazing hosts; my people; your people; my fun-loving clique; @bhavanakuntal and @karan_iclickthese I wonder who paired you two?
We will talk about that ‘off-camera’
Great job, guys
Great job
While Presenting, he explained what each function in the Settings mean;
“Available for Hire” is only highlighted if We have uploaded at least ‘50’ 360 Photos to Streetview.
