As I grow up, I’ve been enjoying going to different places and telling it to my friend afterward. I finally decided to make a blog in the first grade of senior high school. Why? because I want other people to know and feel my adventure too. I wanna be a travel blogger. But it wasn’t easy at all. As a 12-year-old kid, I was very sad when I saw the static of my blog, not even 15 people read my post. The next thing that happened is I lost my motivation and I stop writing. As time goes by, I finally figure out how Google Maps works when I was in senior high school. Then, I started to write reviews without understanding the impact I made. Without any specific intention.
Eventually, I understand about the local guide in Google Maps when I studying at university. I started to get emails from Google Maps mentioning how many people have viewed my reviews and photos. Sometimes Google Maps give me discounts for a room or bus, things that related to traveling. I finally being useful by sharing about my adventure and I feel like a travel blogger with an audience! since then, I get more excited when I’m going to new places. I get more excited at taking pictures of new places. All the excitement is caused by the thought of reviewing it and add it on Google Maps. Then I started to write a detailed review so that I got more points. But I realize it was more than that, writing detail reviews somehow motivate me to improve my writing skill. I learn how to write an informative review that is useful for the reader. Besides that, it also stimulates my creativity at taking pictures. So, for me, being a Local Guide is a personal ‘‘spiritual’’ journey at gaining back my passion for writing. I’m grateful for being a local guide.
These are some of my photo that I took for Google Maps, what do you think? Will my photos make you curious and interested to visit the place?
