The core of being a Local Guide and what I love to do within the program, is writing reviews.

It is also the thing I use Google Maps the most for when traveling, finding other people’s reviews.

Now I would like to challenge you fellow Local Guides to share with me your amount of reviews. I wil update the top 10 in this post regularly to have a nice overview. I hope this top 10 is also a push for you and as well for me to keep on writing more reviews, it is a great challenge! :sunglasses:

  • How many reviews do you have?
  • Do you always write text when giving a review?

Let me start: I have 1407 reviews and started about 3 years ago. Reviews is my passion within the Local Guides program and I love to share my point of view when visiting restaurants, museums, public places etc. I always aim to have a detailed description in my reviews. For example when writing a review about a restaurant, I like to say something about all the aspects of it: food, atmosphere, decoration, staff,…

It’s really nice challenge @Stphn

I’m not addicted to writing reviews regularly but till date, I’ve written 631 reviews on Google maps, and my journey on maps started in 2015.

398 it’s my number. I prefer to add photos, adding detailed review takes time, that’s I’m not such a fan :wink: However I like that others are better reviewers than me :grin: @Stphn thanks for this challenge and @NareshDarji for tagging me :slightly_smiling_face:

Feel free to add my 660 reviews to your list.

Keep in mind that the number of reviews can differ according to whether you are logged in or looking at your public profile. The public number of reviews will be lower if some of the reviews have been hidden.

Hello @Stphn

Edits (Adding new places and editing old information etc) is my favourite activity as a local guides. Nevertheless I have written 845 reveiws. I have been a local guide for about 2 years before I realised I was a local guide Lol. Nevertheless I became active and started contributing in April 2022.

Lastly I like to write a detailed review when possible. Happy guiding and keep active.

Now I think Morten is correct about considering the hidden reviews. Although I have written 845 reveiws,45 of them are marked private.

It is not easy to stay creative with reviews and that is why I am definitely not doing that on a daily basis. I just do a whole bunch of my last month’s visits at once when I am in a creative mood.
