This museum is founded by Archaeological Survey of India. And it’s located in a building which was the Hospital during the British era. It’s almost adjacent to the Assi Khamba Ki Baori and opposite to the Man Singh Palace. It has in four galleries many artefacts including stone sculpture, coins, arms, jewellery, inscriptions etc are displayed, belongs to First century BC to 10th century AD. All these were discovered from the Gwalior and its surrounding areas like Amrol, Bateshwar, Rannod etc. In open galleries it displays many giant Sculptures, gateways, etc.
Entry fee is quite nominal and affordable. Half an hour is sufficient and the nearest attractions are Man Singh Palace, Assi Khamba Ki Baori etc. It’s best known for its rare antiques and Sculptures. It’s a major attraction among history buffs wanderers soulseekers heritage art and architecture lovers.
