APSARA National Authority Notice for Visitors to Angkor Wat

To enhance safety, order, and the overall experience of both national and international visitors, the APSARA National Authority has announced the implementation of a one-way street system around Angkor Wat Temple, effective September 25, 2023.

Traffic flow details:

  • Vehicles entering from the East Gate β†’ must travel counter-clockwise around the temple.
  • Vehicles entering from the West Gate β†’ must travel clockwise around the temple.

This rule applies to all vehicles: cars, motorcycles, and bicycles.

The aim is to:

  • Ensure smooth traffic flow
  • Prevent congestion
  • Provide a safer and more pleasant experience for everyone

:folded_hands: APSARA Authority requests all visitors’ cooperation in respecting these new traffic arrangements.

:round_pushpin: Angkor Wat – A UNESCO World Heritage Site, preserved for all of us.

I hope Google Maps can also be updated to reflect this important traffic change, so tourists and locals receive the correct directions when visiting Angkor Wat.
