Anyone knows about this - a medal at front of the business name?

See my screenshot - interesting. I masked the details.

Hello @OliverKIWI

That’s a specialised emoji.

Nevertheless, if that’s not part of the official business name, then that’s an inappropriate addition and should be removed.

Here are the official guidelines

https://support.google.com/business/answer/3038177?hl=en

Which stipulates that the name should Represent your business as it’s consistently represented and recognized in the real world across signage, stationery, and other branding.

Further, I find that the name also includes mention of the city and even that would be inappropriate too.

Great! Thank you so much - never saw this before. Guess the business owner is trying to take advantage of the loopholes.

Nandish is the name of the business, not the city name.

Thx again @C_T

Hello @OliverKIWI

Though you have masked the full name, I could see the actual name and that contains words East Auckland. That’s not correct if it is not a part of the registered name.

@C_T I am not sure about that - city name in the business name. There are a lot of cases like that…

I’ve suggested an edit to the name to get rid of the emoji! Thx

I agree 100% with @C_T about the Business Name, that should reflect the registered name - no emoji nor the city name -

BTW, as the business is claimed on GMB, It may be difficult to have your edit approved. You can also check directly with the Google MyBusiness Community, to report the business in there

The tips mentioned by @C_T and @ErmesT are totally correct.

Not emoji, not the name of the city/area and not any additional descriptions should not be in the name field. For the most not-governmental cases, the name of the city is not part of the real name and this is not correct to put in in the name field.

Yes, you may see wrong info on the map but this is not the reason to think those are correct and do such wrong things on the map. Instead, the wrong things should be fixed.
