Answer yes/No questions to help others

Hello Local guides,

As a regular maps users and contributor I very often notice these new changes maybe slightly quicker than others. I wonder has Anyone noticed the changes on the yes/No layout on the maps !!!

I noticed this last week but haven’t gotten the chance to share it here.

I know there has been a mix up as regarding check facts/Questions and answers. Nevertheless it’s good to note that the engineers behind the curtains of Google maps and connect are constantly working to solve these problems and to improve on the maps its a new nice layout.

Perhaps this has changed for a good while but anyway I have just noticed it and want to verify of anyone else has discovered it. Comments please…!?

Happy guiding

cheers

The change took place long time ago, @SholaIB , but was applied only partially, So that entering from “know this place” in the business listing you had a kind of graphic, while entering from the contribute tab on your profile you had a different graphic.

Now it seems in the app is the new one everywhere, while accessing from the widget on Google Search for desktop you still have the old one

Oi, @SholaIB

Eu sempre percebo as mudanças no Google Mapas por conta própria ou por participar de testes.

Inclusive relatei aqui uma mudança que até o momento não funciona e * ninguém sabe o que é. Você já viu?

HI @SholaIB , I came across this feature last week. There is no notice when a new business populates so users may think they are answering questions for the same business. This should be fixed because it can cause users to input an incorrect response the first time the new business populates. I learned to follow the colors though. So if the business changes in your “yes or no” answers, so will the colors.

Hello @ErmesT @gmapas and @TiffanyStockstill

Sorry I haven’t followed up the reply on this. Thank you for all your replies. It’s interesting to know how we monitor these changes and innovation from Google.

ErmesT it’s interesting that it’s been on a good while as you said and I have only just noticed it.

Tiffany also said she only realised it’s there not too long ago so I don’t know.

gmapas I saw that post of yours now, therefore the answer is No.

Perhaps it’s just in a trial stage,I don’t know. Let’s how long it stays or if it will be changed. We really only wish that the feedback from genuine local guides should be considered and it help the engineering team at work behind the curtains.

I think the testing phase is already over, @SholaIB

The advantage of the new graphic is that you have all the questions about a single business in a pile, @TiffanyStockstill , so that it is easier to understand which business the questions are referring to.

Also with the new graphics you can slide and remove the questions you don’t want to answer now, and which has the same function as “Skip”

@ErmesT thank you for the information. It will be useful next go round. :woman_singer:

Thank you @ErmesT

I didn’t realise that skipping thing good to know. Some of the questions could be irrelevant and funny.

E.g can you drop off plastic for recycling? POI barbershop

@TiffanyStockstill next go round??? :nerd_face:

Well, in that case I would not skip the post, @SholaIB .

I prefer to use the “send a feedback” feature, to teach the AI about the reason why that question is not appropriate/relevant in my country :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

@SholaIB “next go round” as in next time Google Maps gives me a prompt to use the feature.

Oi, @SholaIB

Hi,

One issue that I find little annoying is, there is no option to skip a particular place. Many times I would generally look for places just for fun. But this “Yes/No question” assumes that I have been there already and includes the place in my profile. There will be multiple questions and there is no way I can answer those since I haven’t been there. I was just surfing for fun!

I guess an option should be there, e.g. “skip” or “I haven’t been there”. Then all the question slides should disappear from my profile.

Can this be done?

Dear Google Team,

I noticed that you have added “skip place” in the Yes/No questions segment. Thank you in deed.

Hi,

I have another request to make in the yes/no question segment.

On a few rare occasions I mistakenly gave wrong answer. It is not possible to rectify it because the next question appears automatically and I cant go back.

If you add a button to recall the last question, the answer can be corrected. It will make your data base more accurate and strong.
