This city in the center of Colombia is a city with a history marked by events linked to drugs and violence…but with a dazzling, successful and innovative present.
The climate is amazing! we are in the tropic area and all the year we have good weather with 2 raining seasons…but not something crazy.
The city is exactly in the middle of the mountains, so the view is special towards the entire horizon.
Normally people who come visit more traditional sites like Pueblito Paisa (to see a copy of a traditional coffee town), Comuna 13 (to see the transformation of one of the most dangerous areas of the cities in the 90¨s and today the most colorful place) and Parque Botero (to see the sculptures of the famous artist Fernando Botero and the Museum of Antioquia).
But we also have other not so famous places that are full of history and magic:
Cerro Pan de Azúcar: An exciting tour to the 8th district of the city, starting with a completely crazy ascent by bus (taken in the Boston neighborhood park) to “the plan” and then a walk through the Jardin Circunvalar ( 30 min) until you get the best view of the city.
Route de la salsa: Yes! not only Calí has places to dance salsa music… in Medellín you can enjoy places set to dance the best salsa … you can search in google maps: EL TIBIRI, SON HABANA, EL ESLABON PRENDIDO, BURURÚ BARARÁ, or CONVERGENCIA
Route del tango: Medellín has a tango tradition that you can enjoy visiting the “Salón Malaga” or “Adiós Muchachos” or the “Patio del tango” … all available on google maps
The city also has other nice places to check: What I can do in Medellin?
