Lakutia zamindar’s house in Barisal.
The Lakutia zamindar house is located at Lakutia village, 6 km north of Barisal city.
There is a beautiful field, a huge lake and a carved zamindar’s house.
It is known that even in the 19th century, the zamindar house of zamindar Rajchandra Roy was the center of cultural activities in the region.
Rajchandra College and Pushparani Vidyalaya were built in Barisal with the contribution of the members of this zamindar family.
At present Lakutia Zamindar Bari is under the supervision of Bangladesh Agriculture Development Corporation.
I was there last July 10th. The environment there was so beautiful that I felt like I was in the Mughal era. Lots of people gather there every Friday, no tickets are required to enter.
