Hoping everyone is staying home and safe from the COVID-19 panic situation . in this time of lockdown I thought of why not share some of the amazing experiences I ever had and would write a few more posts. Before getting ahead I would like to sincerely thanks the google community for making me aware of this community where actually I can share some amazing experiences with others.
Pre -Script:- So we (I and my friend lets call him G) registered for an event to be a volunteer at, here we met two other stranger lets call them D and J, though we had different backgrounds all had the aim of pursuing masters in the USA. Even the organizers we all four blend into each other so efficiently that the organizer was also confused that we have been knowing each other way before the event. Fact:- all Four of us had different backgrounds and different colleges. That was the day I found some good friends, nevertheless, I expected one of them was gonna be a doctor soon…We used to enjoy each other company and even used to hang out on weekends. so night all of a sudden we decided we should go for a road trip to some nearby location before everyone parted to the USA on their different parts. One of us decided not to join because he had some serious back pains. This was the group that headed for the Trip, It was freaking cold at that time!
So, in the end, we were 3 of us I didn’t expect someone to join us in such a short time but luckily one of the junior contacted at the same time and asked him if he would love to join us!. He agreed instantly though having exams on the head he was eager enough for going on a road trip. As per the schedule, we were supposed to gather at one of the friends at 4:30 in the morning! everything was finalized and everyone was damn excited for the road trip!
We had around 150+ km to cover and 3 hrs to cover that distance as we were expecting to see the sunrise at the location itself.
A brief about the Polo forest.:- Polo forest, also known as The Vijaynagar forest is a dry mixed deciduous forest near Abhapur village in Vijaynagar Taluka, Sabarkantha district, Gujarat, India. It is located at the foothills of the Aravalli range and on the banks of the perennial Harnav river, spread over the area of 400 sq. km.
There was a town established by the Parihar kings of Idar around the Harnav river probably in the 10th century. It was conquered by the Rathores of Marwar in the 15th century and came under Idar State. The town was located between two high hills, Kalaliyo and Mamrehchi, which blocks sunlight for most days which probably resulted in the abandonment of the town.[1]
The name Polo is derived from pol which literally means a gate in the Marwari language.
it’s quite famous amongst the youngster and is well know photography spot known for its natural beauty.

It was 5:00 in the morning and we were quite late from the expected time of departure.and it was quite cold so everyone was wearing almost a heavy coat and yes the riding gears as well! We set off to the fuel station first and got both our beast fulled up to its capacity and headed off to the adventure. I don’t know how to explain but apart from one of the group members, the other 3 were scared as it was too early and we even spotted some wild animals in the dark. we were also assured that nothings gonna happen until we defocus ourselves from the drive. as it was our first time riding for such a long distance and we were four we used to interchange the driver’s position so as to we can comfortably ride to the destination. PS:- the pic was taken by the pillion rider! For those who got excited seeing the blue odometer, this was the bikes we were riding with one of them is the Bullet Classic and the other one is the thunderbird. We had our early breakfast at the typical roadside Dhaba and enjoyed the sunrise with some masala tea and typical Gujarati snacks.
After that small wonderful break, we were all set to ride non-stop to our destination that is where we might have ridden 100 km without any breaks and maintaining the speed between 80-90kmph Here are few clicks that were taken en route to our destination. we skipped the first tourist attraction as it was a temple and was crowded as well, we directly headed to the Dam and that was the most beautiful attraction of that place. There were few people who suggested we should visit a village in the polo forest where some movie was shot, but we were tired and decided not to go as it was just an ordinary village and nothing special to it.
Later we came back to the first tourist attraction after clicking pics here and there and had some maggie and juice over there and visited the temple later on. we didn’t have much more to do there as it was a well-known campsite in that location and mostly know for hosting night activities in that area as we were not willing to camp there the whole night we headed to our home town again and had our lunch in some dabha and also lost the way on our way back home :-p. that one was one hell of a journey where we were stuck in some small society and all of the people were just looking at us that why were we there!
Finally, we found our way out and reached our hometown but 6:30 in the evening and it was one hell of a remarkable road trip I ever had! For those willing to go there the total cost of the trip was around 600 including the food and fuel for the vehicles considering the fuel economy somewhere around 40-45. So to conclude it was one remarkable journey in it! and looking forward to more journey ahead with the same group once we unite again XD
