Hi, Local Guides
Because it saves our visits, I think the majority of us enjoy Google Maps Timeline. The GPS and timeline are always switched off for those who do not want their location history to be saved. Therefore, if you want your timeline to be accessible on your mobile device, you have till tomorrow to change your Timeline settings. The Google Maps team has released a new update on the help forum.
Local Guides & Google Map users might see changes from the first days of this month or from 9th of June. It is wise to carefully go over your options and select the right one.
Here are some key aspects from the Maps team’s update post:
Location History is now called Timeline, and you now have new choices for your data.
- To continue using Timeline, you must have an up-to-date version of the Google Maps app. Otherwise, you may lose data and access to your Timeline on Google Maps.
- If you’re a new Timeline user, learn how to get started for the first time.
You can edit or delete your visits or routes in Google Maps Timeline on your device. Please remember:
- Timeline isn’t available on Android Go devices.
- If you edit or delete your Timeline data on one device, those changes won’t be reflected on other devices.
- When you delete Timeline data, it will be permanently deleted and can’t be recovered. You may still have Timeline data on another device and Timeline backups.
You may have gotten an email stating that you need to select settings if you have your timeline history enabled. View the sample below.
If you have the most recent version of the program, you can also launch Google Maps, press on You, pull down, and then tap on Timeline. You will get a pop-up to choose your timeline’s settings.
