Making it simpler to share and discover updates on Google Maps is going to be a huge game-changer for the Local Guides community.
However, as per my experience while testing this feature, it is difficult to edit places with the same name.
Awesome @TiffanyBnyc for rolling out “Tell Maps” pilot in US. We got the privilege to try this exciting new feature at CL in Singapore. We have shared our suggestions too with Google Team.
“Tell Maps” will make contributions much easier for non-tech savvy users as it provides conversational way to make edits/updates.
Please do share the outcomes of this trial with us.

Amazing! These tools will be very helpful and handy for the Local Guides. It usually happens with me when I’m grabbing something on-the-go and don’t have time to note things in detail. These AI tools will definitely save alot of time

Mir wurde gerade eine Übersetzung ins Deutsche gezeigt, die mich zum Lächeln gebracht hat. @LaloPadilla
Das Wort „Tip“ wurde als „Trinkgeld“ übersetzt, was im Englischen ja grundsätzlich so bezeichnet wird, aber hier nicht im Sinne der Antwort gemeint ist.
@TiffanyBnyc Mir fällt gerade ein wichtiges Thema ein, um falsch zugeordnete Bilder zu vermeiden.
Ein Tourist sitzt im Restaurant A, genießt die Aussicht und auf seinem Foto erscheint zufällig Restaurant B.
Er bekommt aufgrund der Ansicht die Aufforderung, das Foto für Restaurant B zu teilen, und das ist falsch.
Es sollte für die Empfehlung immer der Ort seines Aufenthalts gewählt werden.
Hier ist dringender Handlungsbedarf!

I’m really eager to try it soon, especially about a new way to edit a place using the help of AI.
I hope a new feature or policy can be added to Google Maps about the address input when we add or edit a place. I have written the problem here, because it could be happened anywhere in the world, especially in developing countries. Another suggestion, maybe a question about the availability of smoking and non-smoking room can be added to “Answers” contribution. I also hope that AI (along with Local Guides) can be involved in detecting wrong photos added to a listing, because many of my reports were rejected and only some were approved.
