Amritsari Lassi in Chandani Chowk - Best Lassi in Delhi

It is summertime in Delhi and will last until late September until the first monsoon rains pour in. This is the best time to try out various lassis. Many lassi outlets spring during this time. Some are roadside.

Most sweet shops also sell lassi in this season and then there are dedicated lassi shops like the one in Chandani chowk that is just outside the Fatehpuri Masjid. The name is Amritsari Lassi.

The Amritsari Lassi shop is just around the corner. It is so small that I could no spot it easily on the first trip.

They have no seating place and one has to stand outside on the road or the footpath to enjoy the lassi.

The prices are a steep INR 50 and above for various flavors like Vanilla, Mango, Strawberry, and Rose.

The best part of the lassi is that it is fresh and comes with a cream topping with crushed dry fruit that makes the long visit worth it. The best time to reach is after 5 in the evening, else one has to wait till the lassi is prepared and made cold, which can take some time.

How to Reach

I normally take the Delhi Metro Yellow line from IFFCO Chowk in Gurugram and deboard 17 stations later at Chandani Chowk, then pile up in a cycle-rickshaw for INR 30 to reach the Fatehpuri Masjid.

As seen in the photo above, the shop is virtually inaccessible since the road construction is in progress and there is no seating arrangement.

Hi, I hope you and your beloved family are in good healthy condition. @TusharSuradkar .

Is lassi some kind of juice?

I see more mineral bottles than lassi.

Do you have a close up photo of lassi?

Thank you for the interest in Lassi @BudiFXW

It is a thick variety of sweetened buttermil or diluted curd but still, it is thick.

You can see more details and close-up photos here.

A close-up photo of a mango-flavored Lassi is from my trip to another place:

Hi @karinchavoll

Lassi It the main drink that is a thick variety of sweetened buttermilk or diluted curd, but still it is thick.

Badam meaning Almond is a flavor of the lassi.

Also, there is no Jeera in Lassi, since Jeera meaning Cumin seeds are a spice and never used in Lassi.
