The main attraction is a castle, but also the city has a long walking trails next to the river Tejo. The closes cities are Nisa and Gavião, from which you can get there.

The medieval castle is located close to the Tejo River, as rivers were used as merchant roads of those times. It was built in 1350, and provided military support to the other castles: Belver, Abrantes, Almourol, Nisa and the Rodao Tower. The castle was mostly damaged by time and the earthquake of 1755 than by battles - the most known conflict happened in the 15th century. The chapel located within its walls was built in the 16th century.
