Summary:
An affordable motel right next to the popular “Woodbury Common Premium Outlets”, located in Central Valley, New York.
This is a classic motel that includes 3 separate buildings surrounding a large parking lot. While I’ve been there, the place wasn’t fully booked, and it was relatively quiet during the day & night. The motel is wired with security cameras, but regardless of that - I felt safe around the place…
The environment near the motel offers well-known stores and food chains, including a 24/7 “Walmart”. Right across the road, there’s a “Mobil” gas station and a “Dunkin Donuts”.
But the main attraction in this area, which is why I came here in the first place Is “Woodbury Common Premium Outlets”…
The maintenance of the motel is average, but I believe most visitors won’t be bothered about that too much.
Overall, I had a good experience while staying at “Americas Best Value Inn” motel. I recommend this place, especially if your needs & expectations align with what I described in this review.
Here is a video I made following my stay at Americas Best Value Inn Central Valley motel:
Please note:
I stayed in this place during September 2018.
The Pros:
Distance from “Woodbury Common Premium Outlets” - The distance between “Woodbury Common Premium Outlets” & the motel is 3 minutes away by car / 15 minutes on foot. After a long & busy day of shopping, it’s great to know you stay in a motel nearby.
Price – Among all the places I stayed during my recent trip around the USA, this motel was the most affordable.
Assuming you travel to Central Valley (probably because you come shopping at “Woodbury Common Premium Outlets”), ask yourself if you plan to spend there more than one day. If the answer is yes, then I think it’s worth staying in this motel.
Reasonable rooms - I stayed in a double room with two double beds. It was spacious enough for 3 people.
- The beds & pillows were a bit firm, yet comfortable. There was a TV with a large variety of channels to choose from.
- The bathroom was clean and had clean towels & free toiletries. There was hot water when needed and the water pressure was ok.
- The room’s maintenance was ok & it was cleaned daily.
Personally, it bothered me that the windows didn’t have security bars, but this is quite common in the motels I stayed in so far.
Breakfast included - The motel serves a continental breakfast, in the same room where the reception is. From what I know, all guests are entitled to enjoy it. There weren’t too many things to choose from but considering the price I paid - it is OK!
If you plan to eat breakfast - come early because it is a tiny space that gets crowded quickly.
Lovely staff - The receptionists were kind & helpful. Both check-in & check-out went fast. The cleaning staff were polite and upon my request, they gave me extra towels & toiletries
Lots of parking space – During my stay, the motel wasn’t fully booked, so I didn’t encounter any problems parking my car. But I believe the parking lot offers enough parking spots to a scenario in which the motel is fully booked.
The Cons:
Slow Wi-Fi – The motel offers free Wi-Fi to its visitors, but it was a bit slow.
My room could have been cleaner - It really bothered me that the floor around my room wasn’t that clean.
Don’t count too much on the free breakfast - The continental breakfast is very simple. Though it is included in the price I paid for my room, it wasn’t tasty at all - not the food nor the drinks.
I suggest the motel’s staff/management improve the breakfast they serve. Because the starting point was that nothing tasted good, then it doesn’t take too much to apply improvements.
