Seguramente das cidades portuguesas mais bonitas, imensa historia, ótima gastronomia e uma paraíso para os fotógrafos.
Looking at your photo it looks like a really charming city.
Do you have any recommendations for must-see places or activities? @Emanuelimaduarte
It would be great if you could add a little bit about this place with photos and we would love to read your post too.
I would recommend you read this post. How to tell a story through your photography.
Eine fantastische Landschaft und wunderschöne Aufnahme von diesem Ort @Emanuelimaduarte
Thanks a lot for the kind words, my friend. Here are a few suggestions for places to visit in Amarante:
The São Gonçalo Monastery and Bridge are the symbols of our city, so they’re a must-see. They have great historical significance, especially during the defense against Napoleon’s French invasions in 1809. You can still see bullet holes in the monastery.
I highly recommend strolling along the riverbank. There’s a strong connection between the people of Amarante and the Tâmega River… whether by boat rides, paddle boats, cycling, or walking. Amarante has plenty of riverside trails.
You should also check out the little local taverns and restaurants on Rua 31 de Janeiro.
Visiting the vineyards around the city is a must too! They produce the typical white “vinho verde” of the region.
Amarante is also part of the Romanesque Route, with several churches, like the São João Baptista church.
The Amarante Water Park is the largest mountain water park in the Iberian Peninsula.
We’ve got thermal baths, the Amadeo de Souza Cardoso Museum, and the Teixeira de Pascoaes House too.
There’s even a beautiful golf course!
Not to mention the Marão Mountain Range.
You should also visit the Olo River, with its many wild river beaches and crystal-clear water where you can see the riverbed and fish. It’s perfect for cooling off on hot summer days.
Sorry if I went on a bit too long, but trust me, there’s still so much more to tell you about our beautiful city of Amarante. I’ll leave the rest for you to discover!
Vielen Dank
