I have been using Google maps since 2013. I have used Google maps for navigation, for gathering information about places such as reviews, photos etc. But never think of that whoever the people’s behind all that information provided on Google maps. I think of that Google has created that stuff by its employees or by its survey team.
One day I have to go to give my exam so I again go to the Google map and searched my centre by name and Google provided all the information again as usual but on that day I noticed one thing that is " add photos" option so as a curious guy I just clicked on that and proceded further and successfully uploaded one picture that day I came to know that Google map has given access to the users that they can review, post photos, give answer to the questions etc. On map and make map more convenient and safer for the users. After sometime I received a mail from Google maps to be a local Guide and all about points for your contribution, perks and badges and from that day I am associated actively to the Google maps.
So the journey has started as a local Guide getting likes on your own review, earning points and badges for your contribution makes me feel good and also inspires to contribute more.
From that day I started giving review, posting photos wherever I commute. One day I got one mail from Google maps that you’re popular and your photo has impacted more than thousand of people’s on Google maps. That day I realised that small contribution make big differences in community.
The above picture and it’s review I think has helps a lot of people in the journey of my local Guide. Recently I have created o list on Google maps that provides information about public toilet in the city. Added some local business on Google maps. I received a mail from Google map that you are among 5% of the local guide contributed in your city this month that makes me feel great and I think that is the motivation what turned me to be a local celebrity.
At the end I just want to thanks Google map for providing such a great opportunity to reach out that much of people. Looking forward to make much more contribution for the betterment of Google maps and benifits of community.
