Have you ever stayed
in a Museum
in a Monument
in a Palace
I have stayed in such a place which is the combination of all. Recently I undertook an Heritage Inspired Tour and as a part of the tour this is a place of stay for a day. I am going to share my experiences during my stay here.
The above is the picture of the Mint Palace turned resort. A beautiful traditional structure with many rooms, thanks to all those behind this who saved this structure and restored its glorious beauty. You can imagine how the place is by the number of tags I have given.
This resort is the outcome of restoring this Mint Palace, which was once allowed to be demolished.
Though my stay was very short, I enjoyed the most here. As a great lover of art and architecture I am very much fascinated by the way this place is, whatever you say, whether it is a Hotel or a Resort or a Palace or a Museum or a Monument
Since I stayed there for a very less time, I could explore only a little of this place. I am amazed by the collections there, whether it is inside the rooms or the outer spaces. The reception is itself very beautifully curated. I was tired after a long journey, but couldn’t stop exploring. Below are the pictures of artefacts displayed in the reception.
The last picture is a traditional game, known as PALLANGULI in Tamil. This game enhance the decision making and calculating skills.
The corridors are decoated with beautiful side curtains and had swings. Sorry I have only two pictures.
Below are the examples of artefacts that adored the interiors of the rooms. The rooms are very spacious and traditionally designed.
The last picture is the attached bathroom
Some exteriors of the rooms were very traditional, with modern amenities inside. Below are the pictures of some exteriors.
Now let me tell about the common spaces, which looks heavenly to me. Though it was a hot day, it didn’t stop me from taking a stroll. The place is fully surrounded by trees. We can see many peacocks amidst the lushy trees and on the rooftops.
Two peacocks could be seen on the rooftops. Below are the pictures of statues in the open common places.
True to the fact they promise LIVE LIKE A ROYAL, I really lived like a queen.
This resort is maintained very clean and neat. There are dustbins to collect waste segregated, throughout the resort.
The picture below is the way to the restaurants.
The variety of food they have served is traditional Tamilnadu Local Food combined with drinks make a wholesome meal. To tell the fact I didn’t have stomach to eat.
Seeing food I forgot to take the outside dining area, which was large and spacious. Events are conducted during dinners.
There are no words to describe and measure the beautiful ambience of this place. The collections of beautiful antiques are to be remembered forever.
I am surprised to see a tunnel inside this hotel. This tunnel leads to River Cauvery. Below are the pictures of the tunnel.
The guests are taken for Museum tour from 5 pm to 6 pm. We didn’t have time for that. So I have written this post based on my perspective of whatever I saw and explored.
Seeing all the above we will wonder to see the person behind this innovative idea. He is Mr.Steve Borgia. I was thrilled when I and my tour friends had the chance to take a selfie with him.
The man behind us is the person behind the idea of making this beautiful place.

As a Local Guide I couldn’t resist writing this post. This is my Review in Google Maps
Writing this post I revisited that place and enjoyed. Dear Friends I assure you all will enjoy reading.
