Akame is a restaurant and most difficult to make reservation in pingtung .We took railway from Taipei main station to here around 5 hours if you take bus will be around 5.5 hour’s.
Chef is indigenous when he resigned from the Michelin restaurant in Taipei he came back to hometown and start Akame with his family, the meaning of Akame is grill , he use the most traditional way to cook for guests.
Restaurant is in the middle of mountain better rent a car or motorcycle will be better, and it only serves dinner.
Bread made of rice it has rose flavor and roasted wheat on the butter.
Amuse bouche is mini potato with Sakura shrimp 、chives and passion fruit sauce for the white wine is Le P’tit Blanc full of honey、apple and guava flavor.
Baby corn with venison ham it taste similar like iberico ham but not that salty it’s perfect for the baby corn, grill squid medium cook with miso on the top is Mt. lemmon marigold and spring onion powder this combination make it complicate and suitable for the white wine.
What’s special for grill black pig , usually them feed piggy with beer yeast , it make the meat more tender and juicy , sauce is chili sauce and side dish is beetroot and rocket, it’s crisp and very spicy but delicious.
Grill and smoked venison with rhus javanica smoked ricotta cheese , this venison is the best that I eat in Taiwan .
Grill duck breast with strawberry sauce it’s a little bit dry for me.
Dessert is pineapple with mascarpone, pineapple has 5 different textures is quite special, you can taste pear、elderberry and white wine in the same time.
the other dessert is churros with Taiwan pine powder , dark chocolate with cinnamon it’s not too sweet I think I can eat more haha.
Next to me is chef , even though it’s take long time to get here but it’s worth.
