Ahsan Manzil, Dhaka

Ahsan Manzil is one of the most visited places in Dhaka. Ahsan Manzil is a historical place of Bangladesh.

Ahsan Manzil is the erstwhile official residential palace and seat of the Nawab of Dhaka. The building is situated at Kumartoli along the banks of the Buriganga River in Dhaka, Bangladesh. Construction was started in 1859 and was completed in 1872. It was constructed in the Indo-Saracenic Revival architecture. It has been designated as a national museum.

Some old rooms and artifacts, old painting, sword, armor and many other things are preserved inside the Ahsan Manzil. There is a room containing pictures and painting of various kings. There is also an old library, dining room and sitting room.

Ticket: Ahsan Manzil’s ticket price was 20 tk earlier, but now it has been doubled. That is, ticket price is 40 taka per person.

As a government-run historical place, I didn’t like this increase in ticket prices.

Although 40 tk is not much. But there are many poor people who come to Ahsan Manzil for low cost to visit with family, for whom this is too much.

I enjoyed reading about Ahsan Manzil in Dhaka and think it is a beautiful and historical place with a rich cultural heritage. The guided tours and restoration efforts sound interesting, and the palace is a must-see destination for anyone visiting Bangladesh. @Abid_Hasan_Sarder Thank you for sharing this information.
