During my architectural studies and journey, I have always looked forward to visiting and living in Ahmedabad. And getting an internship confirmation letter from a firm in Ahmedabad was definitely a big opportunity for me to explore an amazing new city. Every weekend, I spent my time reading books, exploring the city, exploring its heritage, the food, local vendors and local arts and crafts, and I met many interesting people on my way too.
As a person who still has fear of driving in traffic, I didn’t even dare to drive in Ahmedabad. All the part of my exploration happened on either on foot or by bus or taxi or rickshaws
. And as usual, Google maps was a huge part of informing me regarding where to go, which bus to take, which route will be easier and many more places to explore along the way. Back in my student years, I wanted to explore the traditional as well as modern architecture that Ahmedabad has to offer and I visited a lot of places and I loved so many of them.
