1. Visit the Taj Mahal
The obvious companion to Agra Fort is the Taj Mahal. The two monuments are only about 2.5 km apart. Visiting both on the same day makes perfect sense because together they tell an important story of Mughal power, architecture, and family history.
2. Explore Itimad-ud-Daulah’s Tomb
Often called the “Baby Taj,” this elegant marble tomb is another excellent stop in Agra. Its delicate decoration contrasts sharply with the massive walls of Agra Fort.
3. Visit Mehtab Bagh
Located across the Yamuna, Mehtab Bagh is a peaceful place to enjoy a different view of the Taj Mahal. It is particularly popular with photographers.
4. Explore Agra’s Mughal Heritage
If you have more time, visit Akbar’s Tomb at Sikandra and Fatehpur Sikri. These places help complete the story of Mughal architecture around Agra.
5. Walk through the Local Markets
After spending hours among historic monuments, take some time to explore Agra’s markets. Look for traditional handicrafts, marble work, leather products, and local food.
