At the museum, I found some very nice historical artifacts and some locally carved artifacts. I took some shots which I planned to share on this board some time later. Most of the very lovely artifacts that have been preserved for ages are kept in the museum.
The photos are prohibited to be published so we appreciate these ones that can be published freely without restrictions.
I found these yesterday on my travels, and I felt like sharing them on the photograph board. They look so very local and natural but they are carved images that depicts different things in Africa. Note that these things could be quite expensive and they could be used as home decoration as well. They are all telling a story of how and what life in Africa could be-Natural. Some cooking pot and meal in the local kitchen set up… some bowl of a meal… an elderly lady’s container for holding stuff…An old granny’s basin for stuff…A hunter’s bowl for holding some hunting stuff… etc
I always love their looks and art behind them as well. As local guides, we know how pictures can say a million unspoken words. They can also describe a thousand feelings. These local things describe and say a lot about Africa in general. Nature is
The culture and traditions of Africa could also be preserved in things like these. The last Photo depicts what a local bowl of stuff could look like probably at an old granny’s homestead.
They mostly use this kind of a shell as a holder for little local remedies and antidotes for different kinds of ailments. E.g for a snake bike or Scorpion stings etc. There were basically no plastics and things in those early days in Africa, so these were used on everyday basis. Some remote villages still use some of these even now. The calabash, the earthen pots and plates etc.
Thank you ever so much for always commenting and inspiring me for all my post.
