African Elemi, Atile or Torchwood Fruit ? What do you call it ?

This fruit is unique, with a Velvet Exocarp, Succulent Mesocarp, Rockhard Seed, Prolate spheroid Shape and Black colour this fruit stands out. We call it “ube mgba” in my part of Nigeria, Canarium Schweinfurthii is the botanical name but the English name remains confusing

*Tasty fruit @ogewuru *

It’s called “uber mmiri” in Igbo land

Tastes bitter sometimes but rich in nutrients.

@Tramden awesome, but beyond eating as fruit whatelse do you use it for ?

We collect the seed and sell them. Sometimes I spend time to enjoy the seed, it is very delicious and memories of childhood come back
