Among the best things that Google has implemented is being able to add local locations and local guides have been advocates for this service. However, it is unfortunate that adding such locations is only left to an algorithm and no reviews are being taken.
I have had plenty of opportunities travelling through Tanzania, exploring different National Parks and discovering new places that are not in Google Maps, but not able to add them for all travelers out there to find the places.
Lately, the Tanzania National Park has built affordable lodges for both foregners and locals to use while within the different national parks in Tanzania. For those who have travelled and taken safaris in Africa, you can relate to the costs of having a good lodge within natinal parks, the costs are overwhelming. However, in the Serengeti National Park, from Ndabaka Gate in the Western Corridor there are Kirawira TANAPA Rest Houses located 35km from the Ndabaka gate. The cost for this Rest Houses are USD 30 per person per night for foreigners and Tsh 20,000 for Tanzanians. This cost is very reasonable compared to costs of accomodation in the National Park. Kudos goes to TANAPA.
Similarily, at Seronera just behind the Visitors center, new Rest houses have been added. This units are equiped with electricity, hot showers and a free fast WIFI is available for its guests.
