Accra is the capital city of Ghana and one of the most beautiful places in Ghana. Yeah people do go on and on about our tourist sites (which are the best in the world anyway) but I believe the city of Accra is one of the most underrated places in Africa. Now let me stress on why.
Take a school like the University of Manchester in the UK. One of the iconic buildings in the City of Manchester and over here in the city of Accra we have such buildings. These buildings were established during the colonial era and they were so beautifully built. A perfect example is Achimota college. This is a quaint beautiful school which feels like much less quiet city within the busy city.
Fast forward to modern ages and there are exciting architectural wonders to keep you amazed. One great location you cannot miss is Airport City. This is home to the Headquarters of multinationals like Vodafone Ghana, Nestle, Bosch, and Stanbic bank and as you would expect, they are hosted in magnificent buildings. Nestle’s building gets me hungry all the time. Its a criss-crossing building and at some angles, looks like a waffle and the name Nestle (home of kitkat) does not help one bit.
The scenes at night are incredibly beautiful and i really count myself blessed to be working here. Another fact i have to boast of is that in a month, i have more than 30 nationalities within 1 kilometer of me. Well that’s simply because our international airport is less than 1 kilometer from where I work
This city inspires me so much. I really loved finding serene places to study in my quest to become an IT professional. I realized my dream and back then i longed to share these places with people who needed them but i did not know about Google local guides and even if i did it wouldn’t have mattered because i did not have a fancy phone to help me do that. I am looking forward to adding all these places soon.
I always get excited when adding new places, posting a photo or reviewing a place because i know my effort will reach people and help them make better decisions and that keeps me going. I really like to help people and i am grateful for this platform that helps me reach people i haven’t met before and probably wouldn’t.
So anytime you’re in Ghana, look up the places i have mentioned.
