So, I have spent 20 days being confined to my home due to the injury I sustained which I described in this post — An Accessibility Champion’s Test: Navigating Nigeria’s busiest Airports After an Injury.
Ever since, I have had to navigate life and find ways to do the things I love to do irrespective of limited mobility.
So, three days ago, I had to find a way to work my abs and upper body without putting strain on my ‘recuperating leg’ and did I find a way?!
Oh Yes! I did! Did it work?! Oh Yes! I was sweating a river after I completed my arms and core workout routine on the first day.
So, I asked Gemini — the Google AI Assistant —to share with me video references from YouTube to work my arms and abs.
I got makeshift dumbbells ![]()
Two 75cl bottles filled with water used as 0.75kg dumbbells.
I started up with the Arm workouts using this video:
- Bicep Curl to Overhead Press
- Front Raise
- Lateral Raise
- Circle Moves
- Punches (Jab-Cross)
- Bicep Curl (Half & Full)
- Tricep Extension
- Hammer Curl
- Tricep Kickback
- High Curls / ‘Jesus’ Curls
- Tricep Dips
- Tabletop Hold
- Tricep Pushups / Plank Presses
- Shoulder Taps
- Commando Plank
Of the 15 exercises in the video, I was able to do 1-10 only, since 11-15 will require me to get on the floor

Today, I switched to another video set,
However, I did not complete the circuits.
MAPS’ CONTRIBUTIONS
For Maps contributions, I have been editing familiar places, posting photo updates of places I visited before the accident, adding new places that I was too busy to add, updating hours, etc.
I even added a new road! A beloved friend has been honoured with a road named after him. Although I have added the road since the 30th of August, 2026, the road is yet to be approved. This time at home has helped to track the progress of the new road which is yet to be approved.
All in all, I am recuperating just fine and really looking forward to when I am out and about again.
Thanks for reading through, have an amazing day or evening. Ciao!
The summary of this post is that; no matter what life throws at you, find a way to make it work. The inability to make what life throws at you work is what leads to depression.
