Many of you already know that I had already visited Zoroastrian Anjuman Atash Adaran, which is the only operational fire temple in Kolkata. As August is the auspicious month in Parsi tradition. I will encourage everyone who is currently living in Kolkata to visit here and see the beauty of this community.
Facts
-
Only people from the Parsi community are allowed to see the fire, which is situated on the first floor.
-
Any non-Parsi is completely restricted from accessing the first floor but can access the ground floor.
-
If a person is required for cleaning and maintenance or even an electrician is required, all these people must be Parsi only.
-
A petition had been filed in Calcutta High Court to provide access to the first floor to everyone, but it was rejected.
-
You will hardly find parking for a car, especially in the month of August.
How to reach
-
It is situated at a 5-7 minute walking distance from Central Metro Station.
-
Take any of these buses M-7B, AC-6, S-4C, and S-112 from Bhawani Cinema near Tollygunge Phari.
A wheelchair is accessible to this fire temple.
