Accessibility & Facts About Zoroastrian Anjuman Atash Adaran

Many of you already know that I had already visited Zoroastrian Anjuman Atash Adaran, which is the only operational fire temple in Kolkata. As August is the auspicious month in Parsi tradition. I will encourage everyone who is currently living in Kolkata to visit here and see the beauty of this community.

Facts

  1. Only people from the Parsi community are allowed to see the fire, which is situated on the first floor.

  2. Any non-Parsi is completely restricted from accessing the first floor but can access the ground floor.

  3. If a person is required for cleaning and maintenance or even an electrician is required, all these people must be Parsi only.

  4. A petition had been filed in Calcutta High Court to provide access to the first floor to everyone, but it was rejected.

  5. You will hardly find parking for a car, especially in the month of August.

How to reach

  1. It is situated at a 5-7 minute walking distance from Central Metro Station.

  2. Take any of these buses M-7B, AC-6, S-4C, and S-112 from Bhawani Cinema near Tollygunge Phari.

A wheelchair is accessible to this fire temple.
