About unlimited picture posting in Google local guide.

I have seen many top-level googles local guides are posting tons of pictures and they are only doing this nothing else. is it possible to rank up by only posting picture? but I need to know how they get all the picture because for me it is not possible because I have seen a guy profile to check how they rank so rapidly uploaded 88000 picture other guy posted 100000 picture . My question is how they do it as I know a guide go to the places take a picture and other related information.then they post it.

I think they just download picture from google then post it .is it ok if I doing as they are doing.

Hi @Asifursunny if they are posting that many pictures they are likely spamming lots of duplicates or near duplicates. Posting tons of pictures simply isn’t useful. If they are like this, then you should report their profile following https://www.localguidesconnect.com/t5/Announcements/You-can-now-report-entire-profiles-for-abuse-on-Google-Maps/ba-p/2587129

I have written some guidance on the topic of how many photos to add to a place.

If you are uncomfortable reporting you’re welcome to PM me a link and I’ll look and if reasonable report.

Hi @Asifursunny

Forget about cheating by downloading photos from Google/the Internet and uploading them to Google Maps. You will be caught by Google’s AI filters or by other Local Guides spotting that your photos are “too good” to be yours. If you go look at the photo contributions by other Local Guides it is actually quite simple to spot how professional and commercial photos stand out between photos taken by local guides ourselves.

At one time, I also wondered how it was possible to keep finding places to photograph. But it is actually not the problem. For me, I think the time is a much bigger constraint. Look at the light and time of day = there is always the possibility of making an even better photo than the one currently holding the top spot = the cover photo. And you can find businesses that are not yet on Google Maps or are missing photos.

Also, making edits is a great activity. You can find tons of tips in the #LGCTM project.

Please ask more specific questions if you want more inspiration.

Cheers

@Asifursunny

Aim to upload only one photo to each place (= your best photo) will help you be a good photo contributor.

I think getting views is closer to a measure of quality of contributions rather than adding an insane amount of photos as you mentioned. Take a look at @AdamGT recent post on Leaderboards of photos where the average number of views per photos is discussed as a better measure than just counting you photos. Find his post here: Leaderboards of the Most Viewed Photos
