Why do some pictures appear vertically when I add them on Google Maps?"
And sometimes horizontally.
The links you shared were not to any specific photos.
Here is a link to an update posted to the second place you linked to

The second pic is rotated and shown on the side.
Such wrongly rotated photos can normally be explained by being uploaded by a user who’s camera/phone does not correctly mark the orientation in the files. Or maybe the gravity sensor is not working correctly.
If this happens to your photos you can fix this by editing it and do some random rotation and back again and then save it. You can use Google Photos or Snapseed for this.
Best if luck
@mahatokoushik623 It usually happens for technical reasons:
- Sometimes the phone camera doesn’t take a photo in the correct orientation when you take the picture, so it shows vertical instead of horizontal (or the other way).
- Sometimes during upload, Google Maps may not read the orientation correctly.
The best way is to review photos before uploading. If the orientation is wrong, you can quickly rotate and save it again using Google Photos, Snapseed, or another editor, then upload it back to Maps.
So is your issue that you don’t understand why some photos are shown as big or small squares on the place sheets?
If so, this is just to make the places look interesting. This is not something we can influence.
These are just an automatically generated preview of the photos, @mahatokoushik623 , to show a collage of photos on the main page of the Business.
To see the real photo you should tap on the preview and see it on full size
Ohk …that’s right
