  1. SRI BHAVANI AMMAN TEMPLE-

She is another form of Sri Periyapalatathu Amman, who took this form to protect the universe. Seen in sitting posture, with four hands around this temple is seen opposite to Greenways road local station. This temple is 100 years old that myth story is She appeared as a Swayambhu, while digging this area. On the day I visited lot of chanting was going on. Aadi month special poojas are done, while Koozhu is prepared and offered on the 4th day.

One of the oldest Amman temple of Chennai located at end of Teynampet and beginning of T nagar. There are two entrances to this temple. Aadi month fourth week koozhu is prepared while all through this month grand poojas are performed. There is a separate place for Naggar where under a tree you will find more than 20 Naggar. Durgai Amman, Gourmari Amman are popularly worshipped in this temple. Next to Amman statue on waves, you will see four Annanmargal- brothers who carried Her statues. Belief is they brought Her from waves and installed Her which is the temple we see today.

With this I completed four parts of Amman temple to visit in Chennai during Aadi month. I thank Google maps for locating and guiding me on routes, my family support and God helping me to discover, visit, know and contribute the location of the temple in the Maps.
