Hello LGs,
They say - if you ever land in Belgium, you have to visit both BRUs Brussels as well as Bruges.
Brussels is a very modern city which shines in its own uniqueness.
But Bruges retains its own beauty of an old-time European town.
We reached there late in the morning. There is a bus parking from where visitors are supposed to walk to the main city square. Its hardly 15 minutes. Along the way one can immediately notice the striking beauty of Bruges. The town has maintained its medieval charm. There are lovely canals along the way. On a sunny day on weekends it can be very crowded.
In the main square tourists can visit Historium Brugge for local information & souvenirs. There is the tall bell tower on one side & lovely townhouses on the other. Just beside the main square is an alley by the name “Breidelstraat”. Visit Kathe Wohlfart for souvenirs & Stefs Chocolatier for Belgian Chocolates in this alley. The alley takes you to another smaller square where one can visit Basilica of The Holy Blood to pray & admire the 12th century architecture inside. Walking near the canals, one can find canal boat rides in small boats. Although, the queues for these can be too long its worth seeing this town from a boat.
I have written too much - please enjoy the pictures!
