A Visit to The CN Tower One of The Seven Wonders of The Modern World

Toronto’s CN Tower is one of the Seven Wonders of The Modern Worldand when adding in the height of its antenna on top, it’s the tallest freestanding structure in the western hemisphere. If you want to be higher than the birds, get ready to take flight and zoom up to the top of this iconic building. If you are scared of heights, don’t look down!!!

Thank you for sharing with us @AnthonyAloyeO , when did you visit Toronto?

If you are interested in architecture, you can take a look at How to take photos of architecture post. Also, you can take a look at How to tell a story through your photography topic. It’s a must read topic, as Christina gives great examples.

I’m planning to go again soon as it’s a beehive of celebration right now, because The Toronto Raptors won the NBA title!!!

The whole of Canada is excited about it!

Thanks for the information, I’m going to check out all of the articles so I can learn even more!

Hi @AnthonyAloyeO I am so glad you enjoyed our C.N. Tower. It is one of the must things to do when you visit Toronto. I too went to the top years ago, when it first opened in the glass bottomed elevator. That was a thrill. Glad you enjoyed

Oh yes!!! The glass bottomed elevator, how can I forget? I’m afraid of heights so I couldn’t look down. I agree with you, it was thrilling! I was glad to be back on terra firma though… lol!!!

Have a great week @TerryPG

Hi @Nyainurjanah

How are you today?

I’m glad you’re curious.

Let me list them for you.

The seven wonders of the modern world are:

  1. The Empire State Building in New York USA

  2. Itaipu Dam on the Brazilian-Paraguayan Border

  3. The Panama Canal - The canal is a 51-mile man-made waterway connecting the Pacific Ocean to the Caribbean Sea and the Atlantic Ocean, cutting through the Isthmus of Panama

  4. The Channel Tunnel (sometimes shorted as the “Chunnel”) is an undersea railway connecting the United Kingdom with France.

  5. North Sea Protection Works - A massive hydraulic engineering project undertaken by the Netherlands is collectively known as the “North Sea Protection Works,” though it’s really made up of two separate manmade systems of dams and water drainage – the Zuiderzee Works and the Delta works. The projects involved damming large, shallow inlets of the North Sea and thus, reclaiming land that would otherwise be underwater and unusable.

  6. Golden Gate Bridge - Arguably the most famous and iconic bridge in the world, the Golden Gate crosses the opening of the San Francisco Bay where it meets the Pacific Ocean as part of both US Route 101 and California State Route 1.

  7. And of course, The CN Tower - The CN Tower of Downtown Toronto, Canada, serves as both a communications and observation tower. It stands at 553 meters (or about 1,815 feet), and was the world’s tallest free-standing structure and world’s tallest tower when it was completed in 1976.

Have a fabulous week!!!

Hey @AnthonyAloyeO So glad you posted the 7 Wonders of The Modern World. I am so happy to report that I have been to 4 of them.

  1. Empire state building New York…many many years ago My parents emigrated to Canada. They got very homesick and decided to return to Britain. We had to catch the ship in New York to return( They re-immigrated 4 years later realizing what a wonderful place Canada was) They had always wanted to see the building so we took a taxi with all our luggage and stopped outside to see the building. I was a small boy but still remember the awesome height of the building.

  2. Panama Canal. Panama. had the great pleasure of cruising thru the Panama canal in 2008. What a modern day architectural achievement. So may workers lost their lives to build this. A couple of pictures.

  3. The Chunnel . France to England. Went thru this in I think 1988 From Paris to London, it stopped in La Harve France. Went thru on a fast train as they were nicknamed. What an experience. The trip was so fast.

  4. The CN Tower. Have visited three times since it’s opening. What a fantastic view of Toronto from atop. I think I have to revisit to take some photos.

I have to visit some of the other wonders but Thanks @AnthonyAloyeO for letting me relive these memories.

Oh wow, @TerryPG

I can’t stop smiling because you were so vivid in your description.

I’m even more super motivated to see them all now.

The pictures show how massive the Panama canal is, and gives great perspective.

Thanks for sharing, I thoroughly enjoyed reading this.
