A Visit to Hiroshima Peace Park and Musuem: Say No to Nuclear Weapons

Two days ago I visited Hiroshima Peace Park and Hiroshima Peace Memorial Musuem. It was one the most fascinating journey for me as a history lover.

It was a famous Shinkansen( Japanese Bullet Train) trip of around 3 hours 30 minutes from Shin-Yokohama station. The train topped around 260-270km/hr.

I reached at Hiroshima Peace park around 2.00 PM with a hungry stomach. But I decided to take food later as I can’t wait to visit the musuem.

I visited the Atomic bomb dome- above which the hypocenter of the NUKE named ‘Little Boy’.

Later I visited the whole park. It was full of history. I felt like I was hearing the crying of childrens and dying people.

Later, around 3.30 I entered the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Musuem. The entry fee was only 200 yen=2$. So cheap.

First there was a video presentation of the facts of the Little boy and some interviews of survivors from that incident.

The incident

On August 6, 1945, 8.15 AM nuclear weapon named 'Little Boy: was detonated in Hiroshima. It was the first nuclear weapon/bomb the mankind ever experienced. An experienced pilot named ‘Colonel Tibbets’ carried the bomb using the specially prepared B-29 bomber jet to Hiroshima.

The bomb blasted at 600m above ground level. Within fraction of second, the atmospheric temperature reached 3000-4000 degree Celsius. The cloud of nuclear bomb covered the sky of Hiroshima.

It was a fine morning in Hiroshima. 6300 High school students were working to remove houses from adjacent to street to make it wider. All of them burned.

Near the hypocenter of the bomb almost everyone died within minutes. Those who survived, had to bear a lot of complexities. Like burning of skin, cancer, swollen skin, losing all hair.

Most importantly, nuke radiation even killed the childrens inside the mothers womb. How horrific is this?

Total population of Hiroshima was 35000 in 1945. Of which 140000 died on the same year.

So it means, a single nuclear weapon wiped out a whole city as well as killed almost 40% of all population. What a massacre???

Local Guides: Say no to NUCLEAR WEAPON

Nuclear weapon is devastating. But as all of us know, there are many treaties to rove the nuclear weapon from the mother earth. But 8 countries still hold a lot of nuclear weapon.

I know, saying ‘NO’ from a local guide means nothing to the world leaders. They want power to do devilish things.

I ask all Local Guides to say a big ‘NO’ to nuclear weapons.

@ksyfullah07 Must have been one of the most gloomy and sad visits, after seeing all the difficult pictures there. It’s a constant reminder that all nations should try to live in peace. Thanks for sharing this.

Also, it would be good to have the location links on Google Maps shared with the post as well.

For readers who are keen, here is the location of Peace Memorial Park - Hiroshima on Google Maps.

Thank you for your interest in Hiroshima.

Japan does not participate in the Treaty on the Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons.
The prime minister says that the reason is the idea that “don’t conflict with the countries that currently have nuclear weapons.”

I personally oppose the existence of nuclear weapons.
However, when we look at the reality that some countries actually have nuclear weapons, we still do not know what kind of attitude is effective for the abolition of nuclear weapons.

Hello @ksyfullah07
Thank you for visiting here. This is the true identity of justice. And it is still justified.

There is no winner or good and evil in the war. But, because Japan provided public education to forget that there was a genocide, few people really realize how serious this was (Let’s find out who adopted such a terrifying educational policy). People all over the world need to visit Hiroshima and Nagasaki before visiting Shibuya and Asakusa.

I truly agree with you…Before visiting Shibuya, Shinjuku or Asakusa it is better to visit Hiroshima once.

We have to know what an atomic bomb can do and we have to figure out how to destroy all we have…
