A visit after 1 year of limited movement control: Petronas Twin Towers Kuala Lumpur Malaysia

It must be at least 1 years since I stepped foot in this place. After 1 year of limited movement control all around Malaysia. The Petronas Twin Tower (https://g.page/petronastwintowersofficial?share ) is the current tallest building in Malaysia and the tallest twin buildings in the world. I never thought after 1 year, we are still quite far from coming back to normal life, at least in our country. I came to visit on a Sunday afternoon last weekend.

During “normal” days before the pandemic. Every day, especially during the weekend, the area will be packed filled with people.

[Picture below] A wide angle shot of the Petronas Twin Towers from the fountain array, almost empty, without more than 1 or 2 persons in sight.

[Picture below] A wide angle shot towards the main road from the Petronas Twin Towers. Again, almost no one in sight. Usually pre pandemic, there will be hardly room to move or take photos.

[Picture below] The main entrance to the Petronas Twin Towers, manned by security personnel with temperature sensors. No one in sight except the cleaner lady in red.

[Picture below] A wide angle shot from within the building outwards, quiet and peaceful.

[Picture below] A wide angle shot of the Suria KLCC mall (https://goo.gl/maps/3yPfix4GQau7qxYr8 ) at the base of the Petronas Twin Towers. This is on a Sunday afternoon. Quiet at best.

Life in the city of Kuala Lumpur is slowing but surely recovering and more people venture out to support local businesses. Although from the looks of the photos above, there will still need to be quite a lot of effort to keep supporting local businesses.

Local Guides can help by updating Maps with the latest information and changes in businesses so people can find what they need. Will continue to post photos of main city areas in Kuala Lumpur, and hopefully soon, more lively active places can be the norm.

Hi @StephenAbraham ,

you took some amazing shots, Petronas Towers are simply amazing without any crowdy group of people around … I do remember how was crowdy when I visited them, and you are super fortunate to have the possibility of walking there in such conditions, very special  .

Wow… amazing views… @StephenAbraham

Sticking shots…

Happy to hear the news…

But I am sad, friend @LuigiZ - when I remember about my photo-shoots over Malaysia (7 Days)…

I lost the whole HDD of the trip…
Hence, this souvenir is precious to me…

Thanks for sharing those beautiful shots, to both of you.

@StephenAbraham Yesterday (23 March) is the one year anniversary of the UK going into their very first lockdown! Although it is sad to see just how quiet it’s become, it’s also good to know that folks are taking the restricted movement order seriously i.e. only go out to do essential stuff.

@TravellerG Yikes! Losing the HDD (photos) is horrible! I’ve done it a couple of times too usually with memory cards because I think that I’ve already backed up the files and I can clear them…but nope! All gone!!

Exactly, friend @AdrianLunsong ,

In fact, the mistake was of the airlines; I was accompanying as a guest photographer for an Indian multilingual Movie production unit - even they lost some; it was a great tragedy.

Thanks for your sympathetic response.
