A trip through the southern states of the US - part II, Exploring luck.

In the last week, I shared some memorable experience at the Grand Canyon.

On day three, the plan was to explore some more stretch of the Grand Canyon while on the move.

However, massive snowfall ruined that idea.

Further, one more member of the family required some immediate dental treatment.
In conclusion, we deviated the route & went through Kingman Town in Arizona.

In this way, there was another delay of four hours to receive some prescription antibiotics.
Without a prescription, you can buy at most some pain killer, or vitamins but nothing else.

There is a notable aspect of the system here. You do not need advance appointments for a visit to any Urgent Care Clinic. Nevertheless, you have to wait patiently till your turn comes.

The snowfall continued everywhere.

And then, after travelling for two hours approximately, we sighted an enormous array of parked vehicles on the right.
That was of the visitors to the mighty Hoover Dam.

Passing over the iconic bridge, we had a detour to the spot
There was a security check at the entry. However, that was only to query whether we were carrying any firearms.

The site was full of the holiday crowd.

Another intriguing fact.
The structure is over the river Colorado which forms a boundary between the states of Arizona and Nevada.
These two states follow different standard times.
There were two clock towers on either bank to display that.
And when the DST is on, walk less than a quarter-mile across the dam and gain one hour!

Finally, by six in the evening, we reached Las Vegas.

Caption:- The drive through such tall structures was enthralling.

And here, how you can escape the sighting of a Limousine?

Caption:- How one can miss sighting of such a luxurious Limo?

At last, we’re in the queue of valet parking.
The festive mood was all around with massive gatherings. The check-in counter was no exception.

By far at this place, guests have to complete a long walk through the casino to reach the lifts. That’s an enticement.

Caption:- You must walk past the slot machines to reach the lifts. Can you avoid the enticement?

Nevertheless, the view of the scene across the street & also the night sky was equally attractive.

Caption:- But then the night sight of the city is equally enchanting.

You seem to have experienced a dream trip to Vegas and the nearby places like the Hoover dam.

I was scheduled to stay at Mandalay Bay earlier this summer but the trip got canceled due to the lockdown.

On a previous trip, I clearly remember walking past the road with semicircular bays along on the far side of the water-body little knowing that there are also wonderful fountain displays. Is this the same hotel that you took the pictures from?

The view of the bridge near Hoover dam is magnificent and the differing time-zone clocks are interesting.

Also here is a story about my free Limo ride courtesy of the hotel that I stayed in.

It is astonishing to see that the casinos are everywhere even at the airport

The night views of Vegas are breathtakingly-beautiful and the fountain animation is superb.

I will mark all these attractions for the next visit.

This post is so beautiful I read word for word!

It’s like two people writing one post. One a chilled person the other a bubble ball of adventurous energy “Can you miss such enticement?”

And the two meet where you say; “why step out when you can get such view from the window?!”

This is a unique writing style and I am tripped to say the least!

Hello @Ewaade_3A

Thanks for the compliments.

It looks like you haven’t read the part I yet. I managed to complete the rest of the trip with a partial plaster and sling on my right arm.

That was the accomplishment at the Grand Canyon!

Hello @TusharSuradkar

The Bellagio fountain appears in many Hollywood and Bollywood films.

Oceans 11 is a prominent one.

True, a walk around the roads at night was equally fascinating.

Las Vegas means Casinos. Stay at a hotel comes to be secondary for many visitors.

What a well written and interesting post with beautiful photos… through which I can tour virtually…

In the photo of lake mead…it can be seen the color of mountain is in two parts. Is it because of water level? Its fascinating…

The gif is so amazing. Thanks for sharing @C_T

The discolouration happens because of stored water. As the level reached, that becomes visible.

We can see similar bands at many of our reservoirs too. I had observed that in particular at the Neera Devghar dam on the way to Warandh that.
