A Surprise from ConnectLIVE: I Didn’t Know Google Maps Saw This Impact

When I received my ConnectLIVE Singapore 2026 badge, I first looked at the front — my name, Cambodia, and my team number.

But today I looked carefully at the back, and I got a surprise.

It says that I’m a passionate guide to traditional Khmer street food throughout Cambodia, and that my reviews have helped lead 5,207 people to authentic flavors and night snacks.

I really didn’t know Google Maps recognized this kind of impact from my contributions.

For many years, I just reviewed places, uploaded photos, corrected information, added places, and shared what I discovered. Sometimes we contribute and don’t really know who sees it or whether it helps someone.

This small message reminded me that every contribution can help a real person make a decision, find a place, or discover something local.

And for me, I’m especially happy that it is connected to traditional Khmer food . Food is one of the best ways to share our culture with both Cambodians and visitors.

This is also something I learned from ConnectLIVE:
Local Guides is not only about points, levels, badges, or numbers. It is about the impact behind our contributions.
