Hello, I’m Adina, a local guide level 8. I’m from Kyrgyzstan located in Central Asia, with untouched beautiful nature and hospitable people. Currently I work in South Korea as a Front end Developer. My native tongue is Kyrgyz language and I do speak other languages like English, Russian, Turkish, Kazakh and little bit of Korean. And that gives me privilege to explore and travel like local in many countries, share more of local`s views on my reviews. Plus, I love photography. Photography is so much more then focusing and pressing a button. It telling your story. Through my photos I want capture the best aspects of places and tell their story. I want people to feel what the places feel like but not only how they look like. However there are some places which carries very special meaning for you, like where you have spent your childhood, or felt in love with someone for the first time, and photography itself cant express all these feelings. So I use art to express all these vibes. It would be great if Google Maps in the future would have an new feature where people could share their artworks about places. And that would add extra information about places, like its vibes and feelings.
I would always share my photos and stories about places on my social media with my friends and I would always get comments that they have been to the same places but never see that places like in my photos I have shared with them. That kept me always encouraged to capture photos, learn facts about places and share it with others. In 2018 one of my colleague who has been Local Guide for few years recommended me to do Google Maps Photo reviews. Since then I continuously contribute on maps with adding new places, photos and making this world more connected then it was before.
I found piece of me in the photos,in reviews I have shared with people from the places I have been. It literally means that we all share the world in our own ways. Google Maps literally taught me that people make places and places make people. We are what we have around and whom we have as a community. Sharing with world makes me feel as a world citizen.
