Let me tell you about a unique dish at a 1980s hotel in Sangli. When we visited Sangli last month, we had an opportunity to visit a restaurant serving its city since the 1980s.
Hotel Navaratna-Pancharatna, normally known as Hotel Panchratna in Sangli, is a household name for locals as well as visitors. It is known for its authentic South Indian cuisine and has a long history of excellence and consistency.
My cousin told me about a dish they have served for a long time, which is very unique and consistent in preparation and tastes alike. So I was desperate to visit and try that.
It was a typical South Indian establishment, no fuss in decoration, very basic and simple but very well maintained and hygienic. We sat in the basement seat-out and tried that unique dish of “Veg Sizzler.” Serve regularly with a sizzling sound and serve in simple steel dishes. The uniqueness was instead of rice in it, they used noodles, which was very surprising for us, and they have been serving it that way since the beginning.
Yes, even I was amazed when I heard that they didn’t worry about how others are selling veg sizzler. It was a firm decision that they took not to change the style of making it. A unique indeed, @TusharSuradkar .
Wow, these sizzlers look so sumptuous yet simple. Kudos to this local business for persevering through the test of times and still maintaining their legacy. I always used to think sizzlers was introduced in India by some Western cuisine. Surprisingly I was very pleased to see this. Would surely love to taste this dish one day. Thank you for sharing this amazing place @AjitThite dada
Yes, it’s true. That’s what I liked about this restaurant, they stuck to what they do and didn’t change a bit. It was awesome in taste. You should try someday. @Ssiddharth2000 .
