A short trip to Aritar Lake

In my previous post, I described my visit to the Sillery Gaon (A visit to Sillery Gaon, West Bengal). This post deals with the next destination, after we left that place: Aritar Lake, Sikkim…

We set our foot there at about 11:45 am on the 29th of February, after a long and tiring journey in a car, from Sillery Gaon. The entry fees was only 10 INR per head. After entering, this was the sight that we saw…

Against a background like this::

We wasted no time and hurried off for boating, which was so much fun. They charged 200 per boat, and we allowed 4 of us in each boat…

We boated for almost 30 minutes before stopping, and then started to roam around the place till we saw a path like this…

That’s the path to the Mankhim Viewpoint!!! We hurried up the steps and continued our journey upwards, through bushes, trees, slippery steps, and some wonderful surroundings. These are some of the photos I clicked during my uphill climbing:

I climbed down to find my friends waiting for me and then, off we went, saying goodbye to this beautiful place…

The pictures in this blog are beautifully shot, I must say. Each one of them captured my attention. Also you described your journey well and the writing is very engaging. Good work! :sunflower:

Thank you for your feedback!!! :nerd_face:

Hello @itsdebartha ,
Welcome to Local Guides Connect!

Thank you for sharing your beautiful adventure to Aritar Lake with us!

The hike must have been so worth it after reaching the Mankhim Viewpoint and the seeing the lake from the top. Kudos to you for doing it alone. Did your friends regret not joining you? Did you face any difficultues on your way up?

Since you like nature and clicking photos, I think you might be interested in reading the following post: how to improve your nature photography.

P.S. Since you’re new to the community, you might want to share a bit more about yourself and get to know others in our monthly Introduce Yourself - March 2020. I hope you will enjoy being part of the community. :slightly_smiling_face:

Thank you for your kind words @Ekattotii

Actually, I didn’t do it alone, my friends went up with me till half of the way, and after that, they were exhausted. But our seniors went right up to the top before me, and they were returning when I was ascending. Well, my friends were somewhat sad that they couldn’t make it, but yeah, they saw the photos I clicked from up there (only a few, since I was also feeling tired) and were overjoyed by seeing at them only :grin:

And as for your suggestion on reading the post, yeah, I’ll read that for sure and thank you for your advice on the introduce yourself, monthly. I’ll look into it.

Enjoy :sunglasses:
