Very unlikely!! I don’t see why you’d get flagged for simply looking at your own data.
I am not so sure. We all know, how unpredictable those filters are. Emphasize was on too many times scrolling all 8k photos of my own contributions …
Anyway, I am not under time pressure and just curious, if others have similar problems posting photos or none at all.
@WilfriedB @tony_b i posted two times today. I do not have a triangle to let me know if photos are private. Lucky you. Easy to figure out which are marked! I checked my postings. They seem public. In fact one is featured but has no views lol.
Unfortunately we do not get immediate first day views anymore like we did before the changes of February 7th, 2024 @StevenBerlin. Lets all keep on working as normal, and assume Google was just going through a temporary glitch recently.
@tony_b yea, i know. i just wish we got the ability to see that triangle to know which of our photos was tagged as private.
very sad.
No issues here in uploading @WilfriedB I do contribute daily and no nasty triangles.
The total views should go up or move like you said tomorrow Monday based on past experiences with issues like this.
I’m experiencing this too. Before this happened, my account views seemed normal. However, since uploading a photo from last year’s Umrah pilgrimage, my profile views haven’t increased. Does this have an impact?
Maybe I should delete all those photos and reviews?
Only now can the photos and videos be viewed.
Can someone tell me how they appeared?
In your screenshot, I see only single photo marked with the triangle @doni_hariadi. If you delete only the marked photo(s), the review where it is attached to and other media attached to the same review will be public.
These are two independent things:
- Once in while the total views don’t increase during several days. This is what happened again since the beginning of last week and I am confident, we all will see an increase again soon
- It can always happen that single photos, videos or reviews are not published (“hidden”) when rejected by the SPAM filter. If a hidden photo is attached to a review, the entire review is not published, Only if the photo or review is linked to a place in Europe, we are notified by that triangle. If taken anywhere else, the contributions are also hidden, but we don’t realize that easily.
I’ll try waiting a few more days; if there’s no change, I might delete it, Mr. @WilfriedB.
@doni_hariadi according to my experience, the triangle never disappears by itself. If you are sure, there is no reason for rejection, you may appeal by this form or delete the photo by yourself.
After appealing, you should be prepared to wait up to 6 weeks and do not edit the review in the meantime.
Hello @doni_hariadi,
I just watched you screenshot again and noticed, not only one photo is hidden. When did you upload those? Are all marked with the triangle?
I only uploaded three items—one photo and two videos—from the Burj Khalifa, but all of them can be viewed now.
Did you see them?
The latest photo, I see on your profile @doni_hariadi are these:
Please share a link, if they are not the same, you meant.
I can see all three. So they are public and you are fine @doni_hariadi
Hi Google Moderators and Product Experts,
I am a dedicated Level 8 Google Local Guide who achieved this status within just 3 months through high-quality, organic contributions, generating roughly 100K to 120K views daily.
However, my account has been suffering from a severe, abnormal system anomaly for over 20 days:
Phase 1 (First 12 Days): My new views were cut in half every single day, and the counting interface completely disappeared.
Phase 2 (Repeated Cycle): After sending reports, a manual check temporarily resolved the issue, but starting the next day, the total views froze again while new views dropped by 10K to 20K daily. This fluctuating pattern repeated for about a week.
Phase 3 (Current Status): Currently, my total view count is completely frozen, and my new view count is mechanically and precisely dropping by 25,000 views every single day.
Normal Engagement: Meanwhile, my reviews remain visible at the top for multiple locations, and I am actively receiving real-time “helpful” likes from users. Only the statistical counting system is broken.
I strongly suspect this issue stems from the following background factors:
Related to a Dispute with Kookmin Card: Since May 24th, I have been in a legal/civil dispute with a major corporation (Kookmin Card). They have been running macros for two months on the Google Play Store to suppress or manipulate app reviews regarding our dispute. I have submitted over 10 reports against their malicious macro activities, and I suspect this abnormal traffic environment has triggered a penalty loop affecting my Local Guide account stats.
Overlapping Media Cleanup: About 20 days ago, I uploaded several photos/videos at overlapping locations (National Museum of Korea and Miru Waterfall). Although I cleaned up and removed all duplicate media long ago, the statistical penalty loop persists.
It appears my account is trapped in a broken automated filter loop. Could a moderator or Product Expert please escalate this case to the engineering team for a manual backend review and help unfreeze my account statistics?
Thank you for your time and assistance.
Hi @HappyJeong,
Other Local Guides have recently reported similar issues with view counts and statistics, which can indicate that it is not a penalty on your account. I’ll merge your post into the existing thread ( A problem or planned maintenance with the view count for individual photos? ) so the discussion can continue there and others can share their experiences as well.
I don’t monitor my view statistics daily, so I can’t say whether I’m experiencing the same behavior. For now, I would suggest giving it some time and continuing to observe how the numbers update.
Regards,
Alexandre
Hi Alexandre,
Please read my post carefully. This is not a general system bug or a normal view count error like other users are experiencing.
My issue is a severe targeted penalty and a broken filter loop caused by a malicious macro/bot attack from a major corporation (Kookmin Card) in retaliation for my multiple reports against their review manipulation.
Merging this into a general view count thread completely misses the point. This requires an intentional, manual backend security review by the engineering team, not a dismissal as a common bug. Please escalate this properly. Thank you.
